Convention of Atlantic Baptist Churches: SUNDAY PRAYER LINK
Please pray for Rev. Paul Carline,
Director of Intercultural Ministries,
as he helps our churches find ways to
speak to issues of racism, sensitivity
training, inclusion and helping to cre-
ate new ministries among various cul-
tural groups in Atlantic Canadian soci-
ety. Paul is also our refugee coordina-
tor. Take a moment this week to send
Paul a note of encouragement via our
website (baptist-atlantic.ca/contact-
us/).
CBM PRAYERLINE
Netherlands CBM field staff Rupen and Mamta Das praise God for enabling them to settle down well in their new country. They previously worked in Lebanon before redeployment to serve the broader network of Baptist agencies in Europe and the Middle East. Pray for wisdom as they and their European Baptist Federation col-leagues work on plans for next year. Pray also for safety and wisdom in upcoming key trips to Ukraine and Kosovo to work with church lead-ership on how they can be effective witnesses in their difficult contexts.
Philippines Pray for safe travels, health and a time of en-couragement and new friendships as a short-term mission team from Rusagonis Baptist Church (New Brunswick) are in the Philip-pines. They will assist in rebuilding homes de-stroyed by Typhoon Haiyan. Remember CBM head office staff Ruby Gatiera (originally from the Philippines) who will be a valued presence on the team.
South Sudan Pray for the next round of relief underway by CBM’s partner, Faith Evangelical Baptist Churches of South Sudan, to assist internally displaced people. “We also need your prayers for peace,” says Rev. Saphano Riak Chol, General Secretary. “We hope the war will not persist, the South Sudanese people are very tired of war.” Praise God for funds committed by CBM and three other partner agencies (ABIM, CBF and BMS) to support relief efforts.
