We were using lots of counters and playing math games like “cross the river”. Thank you to the grade 5’s and 6’s for playing their instruments for the grade 2’s. The trumpet was my favorite because I like the sound of it and my brother plays it! Happy St. Patrick’s Day!! Class 2Hop by Sadie R. We had Pink Shirt Day. It was a day to stand up to the people who are mean to other people. We stand up for the people who are getting bullied. The whole school wore pink. I am excited for Spring break! Parent Volunteers Dan Bouchard, Holly McIndoe, Heather Stene, Tanya Germann, Carol Erick, Dan Johnson, Carissa Knockleby-Cornell, Nicole Woods, Derek Ott, Rikki Mulloy, Roxanna Inman, Steve Carlsen. Band Notes by Mr. Skretting I would like to thank the Grade 5 and 6 students for making the trip to the ESO a pleasant, enjoyable event. You were great ambassadors of Jack Stuart School. A big thank you, as well, to Mrs. Campbell, Mrs. French, Mr. Nelson, Mrs. Prestage and Mrs. Wrubleski for taking time out of their day to come with and to any teachers who covered classes for us while we were gone. I am also thankful for the assistance of the following parents for coming along and helping out: Tyson McNalley, Colleen King, Jennifer de Hoog, Stephanie Broz and Lisa Way as official chaperones; and Amanda Hansen, Alison Braaten, Ludmilla Mirejovsky, Janine Pudlowski, Carol Erick, Holly McIndoe and Kim Erickson as unofficial chaperones. The music was great and the students learned how a musical composition is much like a story. Pamphlets on the Information Table Lee and Sandy Pasley Concert for Kids – March 5 th at 2:00 (Solid Rock Free Lutheran Church) Gardner College “Under the Sea” Day Camp – March 28 to April 1 – A Centre for Christian Bible Studies Nelson’s Notes (March) Upcoming events: The grade 4-6 after school Cross Country Ski Club will begin as soon as the weather cooperates. If your son or daughter is interested, please have them pick up a permission form in the office. Intramurals: The grade 3-6 Cup Crazy Floor Hockey Tournament will begin soon. Sign up is available in the gym and the hockey draft will take place on Tuesday March 8 th . Congratulations to the grade 5 & 6 basketball teams who competed very well and had another successful season. Also congratulations to the Edmonton Journal Games teams who trained extremely hard and ran very well in the competition. I would also like to thank Kami Gainsforth for coaching the team with me. Hotdog Sale a Huge Success! By Holly McIndoe On Friday, February 18 th , almost $500 was raised from our hotdog sale. All money that was raised will go to School Council to use where they see necessary. Way to go Jack Stuart School! A big thank you to all of the parents and grandparents that helped in organizing and delivering the hotdogs! Also, a big thank you to Camrose Sobeys for their $50 gift card donation towards our food purchases. Thank you to all students who supported your schools fundraiser. Crazy Hair and Pajama Day – March 17th By Jessica R. and Katelynn H. On Thursday, March 17 th , we will be having Crazy Hair and Pajama Day. Use your imagination to make your hair as crazy as you want. There will be a prize for one student in each class. The participants names will be drawn randomly.
