How to plant bougainvillea

Steps for planting a successful bougainvillea

Remember to wear gloves to protect from thorns

Dig the hole twice as large as the root ball (stay away from irrigation piping!)

Turn the plant upside down and gently remove from pot

Gently place plant into the hole, and surround the plant with mulch mixed with native soil

Leave a well around the plant as you fill in the hole with soil

We want the plant to climb and spread along the fence

Raised beds will be built near the Title I area. The Parent Center is eager to take care of these plants. We will be planting the following:
