How long, O Lord? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide

your face from me? How long must I bear pain in my soul, and have

sorrow in my heart all day long? How long shall my enemy be exalted

over me? Psalm 13:1-2

Grace and Peace to You from our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Amen.

It’s officially been a year of pandemic. I clearly remember the last day

of school in March of last year when my son got off his school bus and

his bus driver said, “see you in 20 days.” Ha Ha Ha.

As I’ve been planning for Lent and Holy Week this year, I actually

couldn’t even remember what I did last year for Holy Week. I had to

message an old co-worker and find out. I certainly didn’t think that this

year we’d still be having to plan around a pandemic! I find myself

asking just life the psalmist did “How long O Lord?” But now that’s

been an official year. I think it’s time to move on from that phrase. It’s

time to hear the end of that Psalm and live into it.

But I trusted your steadfast love; my hart shall rejoice in your

salvation. I will sing to the Lord, because he has dealt bountifully with

me. Psalm 13:6

It has been quite the year, but as resurrection people we also have hope

with us!

Christ’s Love to you Dear Friends,

Pastor Kim Suhr

will have to register for it ahead of time with Luther Point.

Trinity has committed to helping with half of all camp fees! Depending on

New Business: Constant Contact. We discussed a professional marketing email proposal. Pastor Kim has

experience with this program. Consistent look to materials for newsletters, announcements, etc. Access to templates, list growth tools, reporting, tracking and live support. $20.00 per month with an additional 30% discount for non-profits if paid yearly. Ron motioned that we contract with Constant Contact, Marti seconded. Motion approved.

We amended the December minutes to include the following concerning housing allowance for the pastor. Will note this to be an item on the December agenda annually. The president informed the meeting that under the Internal Revenue Code, an ordained minister (1) is not subject to federal income tax with respect to a housing allowance, paid as part of compensation, to the extent used by the minister to rent or provide home and (2) is not subject to federal income tax on the rental value of a home supplied rent-free by the church.

The Trinity Church Council on the 14th day of December 2020, after considering the statement of Rev. Kimberly K. Suhr, setting form the amount Rev. Kimberly K. Suhr estimates to be the fair rental value of the minister’s home, furnished, plus the cost of utilities, during the year 2021, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted the following resolution.

Resolved that the Council designate a housing allowance of $10,420 for Rev. Kimberly K Suhr to paid as part of her compensation for the year 2021.

Committee minutes / Action Items Education: Kelly. No report. Evangelism: no current chair Fellowship: Becky. Ron’s Time and Talent sheets have added 2 new members to her committee. Mission and Human Needs: Marti Peterson. In December we provided Christmas meal to Grace

Continue to collect donations for Grace Place, Little Food Pantry, Food Shelf, SCC Backpack as well as eyeglasses for the Lions and pill bottles for Hammond Health Care.

Properties: Dan & Daryl. New fan in Sunday School wing. New light in Entryway. Switched Insurance company to Brotherhood Mutual which specializes in churches and is significant savings. Looking into run off from room over exit from Sanctuary which results in ice buildup.

Stewardship: Ron. Haven’t received any more Time and Talent sheets. 30 pledges to date totaling $68,000.

WELCA: Kathy. Planning a calendar and working with Pastor Kim on Lenten meal. Worship and Music: Darcy. New piano is on its way. Singers are coming forth. Services are

going well. Setting up an Altar Guild – beginning in March. Youth: Christine. No report.

We had another beautiful garden this year, plants are really flourishing. Thank you to all who have made this

possible over the years. The garden is another area of our church community that needs TLC (Tender Loving

Care from members of Trinity Lutheran Church) If you see a need to pull weeds or think we could use anoth-

er plant or two, we would welcome the help and the items.

Another important part of the garden are the memorial pavers and benches that have been added over time.

There are many more pavers in the garden that can be engraved in memory, honor, or celebration of loved

ones. Any of the blank pavers in the patio are available for engraving your special information and message.

There is also room for other benches around the garden. They are a great way to memorialize special people

in your lives. We have all of the pavers, each paver must be taken to the engraver, engraving takes about 6

weeks depending on how busy they are.

I would like to recognize the newer pavers and benches, and the donors, that have been added to the garden

in the past year and a half.

Newer Memorial Pavers:

Irene Burch given by Becky Fowler Sammie Criego given by Todd and Patty Criego, family

Pavers yet to be placed:

Kriese Shaver given by Trinity Council Emmalee Jacobson given by Lee and Betty Jacobson

Benches:

For Samantha Criego – given by Patty & Todd Criego and family with additional gifts from Roger & June Lindquist, Kerry & Marti Peterson For John Newton—given by Judy Newton and family For Clyde and Joanne Jacobson—given by Lee and Betty Jacobson, family

Additional Items given for the Garden:

A sweet cherub angel in memory of Emmalee Jacobson by Lee and Betty Jacobson (this angel is presently being displayed inside the church due to the weather, she will be placed in the garden again next spring) A cardinal wind chime in memory of David Fowler by Becky Fowler, this is hanging near the main door of the church under the portico. Mulch to freshen the garden—in memory of Lillian Jorgenson by Kathy Jensen

Thank you everyone for your thoughts, time, and donations to this ongoing special project at Trinity!! Any

questions or donations about the garden can be directed to either Daryl or Sue Frank!!

Thanks for your continuing support for

Trinity. Hope you’ve been able to attend

the sound system, or counting the of-

fering. You may be contact by one of

Trinity’s Team Leaders to help support

one of Trinity’s ministries in 2021. Please

Greetings Trinity Family!

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, behold,

the new has come!” 2 Corinthians 5:17

This is one of my favorite verses from the

New Testament. I am feeling a newness in

the air! I am certainly ready to let this past

year go, however I believe that God is using

these difficult times to mold us into beautiful

new creations!

It is wonderful to return to worship together in

our sanctuary! We are continuing to look

carefully at ways to improve our sound sys-

tem and the live-streaming of our services.

We want to be able to bring our worship ser-

vices to all of our members and community

with the best possible quality. You will be

hearing more about this in the weeks to

come.

Please prayerfully consider how you can be

involved with worship and music. WE NEED

YOU! During March we would like to look at

building/training teams to serve in all aspects

of the service. Sue Frank and Dar Sittlow are

heading up the altar guild committee. We are

in need of people to run sound, powerpoint

and video, as well as ushers, musicians, and

decorators. (It truly takes a “village” to run a

service!)

I have to thank Pastor Kim for being involved

in all aspects of our services. She has been

instrumental in “making things happen.”

I also have to thank the faithful singers that

have come in to help record the music over

the past months. I truly appreciate you all!

GREAT NEWS! Our new piano is here! Lee

Jacobson has donated a beautiful electronic

grand piano to our church. Mark from Schmitt

Music came out today to train us. Just wait

until you hear what it can do! Thank you so

much to the Jacobson’s for your generosity

to our church.

God’s blessings to you all!

Darcy

MUSIC & WORSHIP NEWS BIND US TOGETHER

The following thoughts and prayers were recorded

from the ribbons that were attached to the cord tied

between the columns in the Portico this past summer.

Bind us together Lord, Bind us together with cords

that cannot be broken, Bind us together Lord, Bind

us together with Love.

Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us

all together in perfect harmony. Colossians 3:14

The visible cord is no longer there but the thoughts and prayers remain for these and many more!! Thank

you to those that contributed to this cord, continue to

turn in prayer requests as the need arises.
