The workshops were informative, the dancing was fun and enjoyable and most of all, the entertainment was superb!! I would like to thank David and Jerry Rodgers again for being wonderful hosts to Charlie and Jackie and for organizing all the dance lessons. Many thanks to Jo-Ann Hitze- mann, Tom Brett and their committee members for organizing the delicious buffet and for all the leg work needed to organize the event at Ft. Myer. Thanks to Joan McKinney and Michael Browne for the publicity and to Cathy Metcalf and Nancy Roop and the dance committee for registration at the workshop. I would also like to thank Paul and Sue Young, Dave and Angie Bushey, Valerie Swiger and all the board members for their part in making this event successful. Thanks to DJ Larry Jones for his wide selection of shag songs and most of all, thanks to Charlie and Jackie for sharing their love of the shag and giving us the chance to learn new shag steps, style and technique. Big thanks to all the NVSC shaggers who brought the delicious goodies and for the warm fellowship enjoyed by all. In March we will have the annual Easter bonnet or Easter hat contest on Wednesday, March 19. Prizes will be awarded to the most original, the cutest and the funniest looking bonnet or hat. We will also again have the egg dancing contest which everyone seemed to enjoy last year. Another important event in March is the Craig Hutchinson Memorial Dance at the Spanish Ballroom at Glen Echo Park scheduled for March 14. More informa- tion about this event is contained on the flyer included in this newsletter. We are planning a Shag-a-Thon again this year to raise money for Capital Hospice, but the place has not been confirmed yet. Fran Mong, chairman and Sharon Geyer, co-chairman are organizing this event. Watch for more information via Hello Shaggers and nvshag.org as details are finalized. We are in the process of updating our website including photos, so please be patient if things are not corrected as quickly as you would like them to change. Mark your calendar for Spring SOS, April 18-27, and for our SOS party which will be held on Friday, April 25 at Fat Harold’s.
