prison lives. Classes taught include Resume Preparation and Preparing for a Job Interview. Dates delivered in 1997: July 29,31; August 7,12; November 5,12. Evaluations indicate 100% of participants responding believed they are better prepared to pursue a job or career as a result of this training.

1995-1996 Bergen County Jail Training Programs, designed and developed with RCE Family and Consumer Sciences educator. Classes taught include:

1992-1996 Careers in the Green Industry. Project team leader, responsible for development, coordination, teaching and evaluation of innovative

state. Implement a highly structured curriculum lasting 12 to 25 weeks; classes offered on Cook campus and at correctional facilities. 1992 pilot program received $94,000 in grant funding from N.J. Department of Corrections; 45 youth participating. 1993 and 1994 expanded programs received $217.000.00 in grant funding from N.J. Department of Corrections (Division of Juvenile Services) and N.J. Department of Environmental Protection;

430 youth participating. 1996 limited to two facilities; 70 participants. This innovative program has received regional and national attention. Our curriculum has been requested by universities and correctional departments

Evaluations indicate strong preference for settings that include plants; pride in successes with plants; retention of new horticultural information; and teachers note greatly improved attention and behaviors.
