Daily Market Update March 18, 2014 DSEX Index Closing 4,554.787↓(-36.39; -0.79%) Market retraces with slightly improved turnover The market retraced today with slightly improved turnover. The benchmark index DSEX (-0.79%) went down further by 36.39 points from the last session’s 7 week low value and closed the session at 4,554.78 points. The other two indices DS30 and DSES lost 1.19% and 1.41% respectively. Among the large cap sectors, Banks (+0.69%) posted a mild recovery from the last session’s heavy correction. In addition to Bank sector, Food & Allied also ended in green today with 0.23% gain. Power (-1.46%) lost the most today followed by Telecommunication (-1.44%) and Pharmaceuticals (-0.64%). NBFIs edged down by 0.12%, The total turnover at DSE stood at BDT 3.2 billion (USD 41.5 million) today, 10.3% higher compared to last session’s 11-week low turnover. Square Pharmaceuticals (-3.2%) remained the most traded stock of the session with a turnover of BDT 240.6 million. IPDC (+10.9%) topped the gainers chart today following its dividend declaration of 5% cash dividend and 10% stock dividend. Five more companies with year-end on December 2013 have made their dividend declarations today. A new stock named Emerald Oil Industries will commence trading at DSE tomorrow. DSEX Index Closing 4,554.787↓(-36.39; -0.79%)

Market retraces with slightly improved turnover

The market retraced today with slightly improved turnover. The benchmark index DSEX (-0.79%) went down

further by 36.39 points from the last session’s 7 week low value and closed the session at 4,554.78 points. The

other two indices DS30 and DSES lost 1.19% and 1.41% respectively. Among the large cap sectors, Banks

(+0.69%) posted a mild recovery from the last session’s heavy correction. In addition to Bank sector, Food &

Allied also ended in green today with 0.23% gain. Power (-1.46%) lost the most today followed by

Telecommunication (-1.44%) and Pharmaceuticals (-0.64%). NBFIs edged down by 0.12%, The total turnover

at DSE stood at BDT 3.2 billion (USD 41.5 million) today, 10.3% higher compared to last session’s 11-week low

turnover. Square Pharmaceuticals (-3.2%) remained the most traded stock of the session with a turnover of

BDT 240.6 million. IPDC (+10.9%) topped the gainers chart today following its dividend declaration of 5% cash

dividend and 10% stock dividend. Five more companies with year-end on December 2013 have made their

dividend declarations today. A new stock named Emerald Oil Industries will commence trading at DSE

tomorrow.

CVOPRL (DSE:865.60,-3.01%; Bloomberg: CVOPRL:BD) The Company has informed that in pursuance of the NOC dated October 03, 2011 accorded by the Energy & Mineral Resources Division under the Ministry of Power Energy & Mineral Resources of the Govt., the Company completed the installation of 50,000 M/Ton per year capacity condensate fractionation plant (Daily 150M/Ton) by the month of November'2013 which was duly inspected & Certified by BUET, BPC & PETROBANGLA as per clause of the NOC. Thereafter, the Company applied for allotment of 50,000 M/Ton condensate per year as raw material for starting operation of Refinery Plant in response to which the Ministry allotted 3,000 M/Ton condensate for test run of its plant. To procure the allotted condensate, the Company has to make a buy/sell agreement with Sylhet Gas Fields Ltd. PETROBANGLA ordered Sylhet Gas Fields Ltd. to make an Agreement with the Company. Accordingly, the Company signed buy/sell agreement with Sylhet Gas Fields Ltd. on 16th March 2014. As per clause of the NOC, the Company is going to submit result of the test run to BPC & PETROBANGLA informing satisfactory completion of the test run and thereafter the Company will be awarded the final allotment of the required quantity of condensate for the commercial operation of its plant by the Ministry COMPANY NEWS Emerald Oil Industries Ltd.: Trading of the shares of Emerald Oil Industries Ltd. will commence at DSE from March 19, 2014 under 'N' category.
