    Shapes on silk.Painting with outlines

to ensure a reliableresist. After fixing, allcoloured outliners are

    wash and dry-clean-resistant.

The water based, clearMarabu-Contours& Effects resists very

well on thin andmedium types of silk.

On heavier qualities(thicker than pong 14,

crpe satin 12.5, crpede chine 16), werecommend drawinga thicker outline or

    Particularly largesilk fabrics can be

painted on the floor.Glue the film on, spray, draw on the silk and

    start.

    before stretching.

    A sticky film can

    6

    1. You need a firmsupport (table, acrylic

or glass plate etc.); ifthis is not washable, you will also need a

washable film to coverthe support first.Smooth the film over

the support very evenlyand stick with adhesivetape at one end. Then

stretch the oppositeside of the film tightlyand stick. Use the same

procedure for the sidesuntil the film is smooth.

    2. Spray Marabu-SilkEasy Fix on the support

or on the film and allowto dry for approx.

510 min. Ensure thearea is completelysprayed.

    3. Roll the silk fabriconto a cardboard tubeor similar to control

    stretching better.

    Heres howits done:

    4. Lay the rolled outsilk onto the area

sprayed with Marabu-Silk Easy Fix. Thengradually press the silk

onto the paintingsupport, brushing anysmall air bubbles away

to the edges. Very smallcreases or air bubbleswill not affect painting.

    1. Stretch the silk ontoa frame which is bigenough using stretchingfasteners or pins. Pressthe fasteners or pinsinto the frame, alternating right andleft for the best results.

    2. Now the silk canbe painted just asyou like. First paint the

outlines and allow themto dry well. Then paintin the motif withMarabu-Silk.

    3. As soon as the paintis dry, remove the fabricand fix according tothe instructions.

Silk painting on a stretching frame

Until now silk was stretched onto awooden frame for silk painting. This isstill possible, of course.
