PRESIDENTS REPORT
Don’t know quite what happened but we managed to forget about the Feb run until it was all over, must be old age starting to settle in. Have heard it was a great weekend with around 400 cars in attendance. Next up is the Ford day at the Mount and we will try to remember this one. We have enclosed the two bays in one of our sheds so have around 300 m3 of enclosed shedding to play with, having a big clean out as well as need to get rid of some junk. We are starting to develop a real man’s cave and starting to display the stuff we have collected over the years that have been hidden away. Could be a good spot for the AGM to save the club some money. The countdown to the convention is getting less with the sights firmly set on having a great time. We have managed to get a car on the road for Twizel, so happy the Mk5 is not going to need new badges to fit in with the other Z cars. Still working on the Mk3 after problems with firing up for the first time so may still get this finished yet, but do I want the petrol bill now that it is over $2 per litre? Consuls sure come into their own when petrol is this expensive. Times must be tuff when you see a couple of Mk1 Convertibles sitting on trade me and not selling at what seem to be reasonable prices. We have decided to go the other way by purchasing (hopefully) a place at the beach so will be reducing our car fleet by a few, so expect to see some more cars on trade me not selling. If you have not let our Treasurer know if you are attending the convention please make the effort, would be great to get a list out so support maybe just a phone call away. See you at the Mount, Mike.

MONTHLY RUN
27th March for those that would like to join us, Meeting at Town & Country motors
Kihikihi 10.30am, depart 10.45am and heading past Waitomo caves to end up at Ruakuri caves, about 40mins drive from Kihikihi.
Picnic lunch and then you are free do as you please as to when you would like to head
home. (If you would like to visit the caves you need to book ahead).
Rod Routley To all of those attending the 27 March club run to Ruakuri Cave, there is a free exploration walk that you can do, which takes approx 45 minutes to an hour. It is steep going at short times but you will get an opportunity to see caves, vegetation, waterfalls, boardwalks etc. It is definitely worth doing and best of all it is free of charge. There is a picnic area next to the entrance of the Ruakuri walk and a sealed carpark to leave the cars. Comfortable walking shoes are a must; it is only about 5 minutes west of Waitomo Caves See you there

MIDDLE OF THE
ROAD
A farm boy accidentally overturned his wagonload of corn. The farmer who lived nearby heard the noise and yelled over to the boy, "Hey Willis, forget your troubles. Come in and visit with us. I'll help you get the wagon up later." "That's mighty nice of you," Willis answered, "but I don't think Pa would like me to." "Aw come on boy," the farmer insisted. "Well okay," the boy finally agreed, and added, "but Pa won't like it." After a hearty dinner, Willis thanked his host. "I feel a lot better now, but I know Pa is going to be real upset." "Don't be foolish!" the neighbor said with a smile. "By the way, where is he?" "Under the wagon."

PUZZLE NUTS
There is a common English word that is nine letters long. Each time you remove a letter from it, it still remains an English word - from nine letters right down to a single letter. What is the original word, and what are the words that it becomes after removing one letter at a time?
