Conducting Budget Transparency Survey in collaboration with International Budget Partnership (IBP).Budget demystification and outreach through media.Gender and pro-poor budget analysis. Research on use and impact of aid and budget data in Nepal.
Budget Overview for Fiscal Year 2014-15
• Functional classification under 10 sectors/ministries.
• One-third of the expenditure goes to the ‘General Public Service’.
• One-fifth of the expenditure go to ‘Health’ and ‘Education’, these are two of the most crucial social sectors.
So, Why Map the Budget Data?
To improve co-ordination between Budget Allocation and Foreign Aid.

Challenges in Extracting the Budget Data
• Unavailability of budget data in an open format.
• Lack of data about year-to-year budget allocation for particular projects.
• Unclear classification between on-budget and off-budget foreign aid on the Aid Management Platform.
