A CBE is done by your healthcare provider. Your provider will touch your breasts to check for any Iumps. Women 50 years of age and older, will need to get a mammogram. A mammogram is an x-ray picture of the breast. It can detect cancers that are as small as a grain of rice, thus finding cancer at a very early stage. Get a CBE and a Mammogram every year. You must also remember to check your breasts (BSE) every month. Make it a Habit for Life! There is a simple and safe screening test you can get that can find abnormal cells in and around the cervix. This test is called the Pap test or Pap smear. Finding and treating abnor- mal cells is important. If these cells are not treated, they can become Cancer. Women 21 years of age and older may need to get a Pap test every 2 years. SCREENING FOR BREAST CANCER Those who have had a Pap smear and/ or mammogram are off to good start. Remember, annual screenings are the best way to find breast and cervical cancer early, when it is most treatable. Don’t take chances with your health. Make it a healthy habit for life. Step 1: If you meet the Four (4) BCSP eligibility criteria, you must fill out a program application/enrollment form. This can be done by calling the BCSP pro-gram, where staff can enroll you over the phone.

*You can apply/enroll with BCSP at the time of your pap smear or mammogram appointment (which ever comes first).

Step 2: BCSP staff will then schedule an appointment for you (if you do not already have one).

Step 3: Women enrolled in the program must be seen by on of the program’s designated healthcare pro-viders in order for the services to be paid for by the CNMI Breast and Cervical Screening Program. designated healthcare providers include:

• Commonwealth Health Center (CHC)*• Tinian Health Center (THC) * *• Rota Health Center (RHC) * *

*Patients from CHC:Once you are done with your pap smear, please bring documents and billing forms to the BCSP Of-fice (see map).

**Patients that are from THC and rHC:Your documents and billings will be forwarded by your healthcare provider AFTER your screening appointment.

The Breast and Cervical Screening Program (BCSP) offers breast cancer and cervical cancer exams such as Pap Smears, Clinical Breast Exams, and Mammograms (to women 50-64 years of age) at no cost to women who:

• Are 21 years of age and older,• Is a resident of the CNMI• Meet BCSP income guidelines• Has no health insurance or has health insurance that requires a co-payment.

Program funded services are made possible through a grant from the Centers for disease Control and Prevention (CdC).

The following table is used to determine your eligibility to receive program paid services. You must have a household in-come, as determined by family size, be-low the maximum income level set out in the table below.

Please provide a copy of your last two (2) check stubs, or last year’s W-2 form as income verification.
