Logline

A daughter faced with physical assault and sexual attention from her

depressed, unstable father responds by escaping and starting a new life, but

soon discovers that she can’t run away from her past and that she is the only

one who can truly help him

ACT 1ACT 1Elle Innes, an only child, is currently dealing with the tragic death of her mother.

The daughter’s father (Harold Innes) is emotionally scarred from the mother’s death and turns to alcohol to drown his sorrows.

He starts to physically assault the daughter as an outlet for his emotions, forcing her to leave home and run away.

Location - Middle class house. Father has money/mirroring king in fairy tale/he has power

ACT 2ACT 2After leaving home she starts to live on the streets and struggles to survive.

In a last ditch attempt, she gets work as a barmaid in a bar and starts to turn her life around.

However, everything changes when her father shows up and takes to drinking at the bar every night, drowning his sorrows.

She has to make a choice, to either run away or confront him.

Location - Bar/Club Wonderland

ACT 3ACT 3

Elle takes the brave step to confront him.

He explains his regrets and promises to change.

She believes him and returns home, back into an abusive relationship.

Ultimately this is a short film about a cycle. The cycle abuse victims go through. Revealing how hard it is to break free.

Elle is an example of a victim, one which mentally cannot escape her father who himself is experiencing his own traumas, and inflicting those on his daughter.
