Introduction of the DT’s
• The Body and Cover pieces are unique. Each Drift Tube has its own Cover and Body Design.
Handling and Cleaning Procedure
• Handling of copper parts must be done with care of not touching them bare handed. Gloves must be used always.
• Copper parts must be stored in appropiate conditions, protecting them from atmosphere.
Handling and Cleaning Procedure
• Cooling Fluid must be Halogen and Silicone free.
• The clamping of copper must be done with care, due to the softness of the material.
• Also is important the election of the tool. Some tools produce vibrations during the machining operation producing irregular surfaces.
Handling and Cleaning Procedure
• After some tests it was found that the problem of the machining of the rounded part was the orientation of the copper rod.
• Changing the orientation, the tolerances for the critical parts were achieved.
