1. DONATION

Perform the donation and allow the collected blood to settle according to blood bank procedures

PROCESS - BC in-line/PRP in-line 2. FIRST CENTRIFUGATION

Place the bag in the centrifuged bucket and centrifuge it using standard procedures

3. FRACTIONATION

Break open the outlet valve on the collection bag and press the PPP or PRP. When the buffy coat can be

seen in the tubing, switch it to the satellite bag destined for this purpose.

4. SEAL AND SEPARATES BAGS

4. Once the buffy coat is separated and after adding the plasma, seal and separate the tubing according to

established procedures.

1. RED-CELL FILTER PRIMING

Open the breakaway valve allowing the SAG-M solution to flow freely

through the red-cell filter to the collection bag containing the red-cell concentrate.

2. HOMOGENIZATION

Clamp the tubing at the neck of the collection bag and mix thoroughly.

3. RED-CELL FILTRATION

Hang the collection bag above the transfer bag; remove the sealing clamp

allowing the red cells to flow freely by gravity through the filter into the transfer bag.

4. END OF PROCESS

Once the red-cells content has been filtered (15-25 minutes) seal the tubing

between the filter and the transfer bag. Discard the collection bag and

the filter according to established procedures

Transfusion Set

Demotek Infusion Sets - Specifically designed for intravenous and hypodermic injections. The needle/cannula is inserted under the skin and fluid is absorbed by the tissue. Demotek Infusion sets are for single use only, non-pyrogenic, sterile and made of high grade PVC plastic for medical use. Conforms to EN550:1994 and EC directives, ISO.

Sutures and surgical items D-tek Suture and needle selection is dependent upon different factors like the anatomic site, the required suture characteristics and the surgeon's preferences. D-tek sutures are made of high initial tensile strength, guaranteed holding power through the critical wound healing period, with smooth passage through the tissue and ease of handling. D-tek surgical needles are manufactured in a wide range of types, shapes, lengths and thickness made of high quality stainless steel (302s), sharp enough to penetrate through the tissue with minimal resistance. Skin stapler, a specialized instrument with novel construction for surgical skin suturing has the advantage of speed during operation, good wound matching and healing and painless removal. D-tek surgical mesh is a surgically designed, sterile woven material, made of synthetic polypropylene threads porous and non-absorbable, that provides long-term strengthening and bridging of damaged fascia.

Blood collection tubes and needles

D-vac Tubes, Holders and Needles are used together as a system for the collection, transport and processing of whole blood for the testing of serum and plasma samples. The tubes are made of high quality plastic Polyethylene Terephthalate PET (available also in Borosilicate glass) and the quantity of blood drawn varies with altitude, ambient temperature, barometric pressures, tube age, venous pressure and filling techniques. The cap made of Polyethylene(PE) LOPE and stopper made of Butyl rubber provide a secure tight leak proof stopper. The d-vac Multi-Sample Needles are safe and user friendly, while they have been designed to greatly reduce the risk of contamination, because they eliminate direct user contact with blood sample. The needles are smooth and sharp to minimize patient discomfort while at the same time are covered and closed off, resulting in guaranteed leak proof needles.
