1. Introduction The revolutionary Sinar eShutter sets new standards in modern high-end photography. For

example,whenworkingwithaviewcamerasuchastheSinarp3,theintegratedmicroproces-sorsguaranteeprecisesettingsandveryfastshutterspeedsupto1/125sec.Theuniqueshut-tertechnologyuses7insteadof5shutterblades,thusachievingapracticallyroundaperture.ModernmaterialsandelectroniccomponentsmadethesmallsizeandthelightweightoftheeShutterpossible,aswellastheconnectionstodifferentcameraplatforms.

TheSinareShutterisacompletelyintegratedmodularsystem.Thankstothisopenarchitec-ture,itisalsopossibletoattachtheSinareShuttertoothercameras.Theappliedtechnologypermitstheconversionofexistinglensesofthe“0”size.

3. Computer Software

3.1. eShutter Control

Thesoftwareautomaticallyreadsthecorrespondingapertureson thelens.Thateliminatestheneedformanualsettingofthe preferencesandpreventsthesettingofincorrectaperturevalues (f-stops).

3.2 Operating Elements 3.2.1 FlashSynchronization

Theflashistriggeredatthestartoftheexposure.

Theflashistriggeredattheendoftheexposure.

Withthissettingtheflashsynchronizationisswitchedoff.


3.2.2 Picturemode Singleexposuremode

Exposuresequencemode

Bracketing Activatinganexposuresequence.Thenumberofexposuresandthebracketingofthe aperturevalues(f-stops)aresetunder“Preferences”(Chapter3.3).

Selftimer Activatingtheselftimerfunction.Thevaluesfortheselftimerfunctionaresetunder “Preferences”(Chapter3.3).

3.2.3 Settingtheaperture(f-stop)

Withthissetting,theapertureisfullyopen.

Withthissettingtheapertureissetattheworkingaperture.

Opentheshutter.

Closetheshutter.

Activatetheshutter.


3.2.4 ExposureTime/ShutterSpeed Movingthesliderupwardlengthenstheexposuretime/reducestheshutterspeed. Conversely,movingthesliderdownwardshortenstheexposuretime/increases theshutterspeed.

Theexposuretimes/shutterspeedscanalsobechangedviathe“+”and“-“symbols. Exposuretimescanbeselectedfrom32secondsto1/125sec.

3.2.5 ApertureValues/f-stops

Movingthesliderupwardsetshigherf-stopnumbers,i.e.smallerapertures, Conversely,movingthesliderdownwardsetssmallerf-stopnumbers,i.e.larger apertures.

Theaperturevalues/f-stopscanalsobesetviathe“+”and“-“symbols.

3.2.6 ShortcutKeys Allthe‘ShortcutKeys’arelistedunder“CONTROL”in themenu.

Theseshortcutkeysallowquickaccesstothefunctions, thusprovidingeasyandefficientoperationoftheSinar eShutter.


3.3Preferences

Preferencescanbecalledupviathe“p”shortcutkeyorvia thattitleonthemenu.

Exposure-StepSize Pre-settingtheaperturestepsontheshutter. Thefollowingaperturestepscanbeselected:1/6,1/3,1/2,1.

MultipleCaptures Numberofexposures: Settingthenumberofexposures. Pausebetweenexposures: Settingthelengthofthepausebetweenindividual exposures.Thepausesarecalibratedinseconds.

Bracketing Numberofexposures: Settingthenumberofexposures. Stepsize: Settingthestepsfortheexposureseries. Thefollowingstepscanbeselected:1/3,1/2,1,2.

Pausebetweenexposure: Settingthelengthofthepausebetweenexposures. Thepausesarecalibratedinseconds.

Selftimer Pre-settingthedelaybetweentheactivationoftheshutterreleasebuttonand theactualexposure.


4 OperationviaanAppleiPhone,iPad,iPodTouch

4.1 ConnectinganiPhone,iPad,iPodTouchtothecomputer

ThesuccessfulAppforoperatingtheSinareShutterviaaniPhoneoraniPad isavailablefreeofchargeiniTunes.

Theconnectiontothecomputeristobeestablishedviaanetworksetting, asfollows:

A-Whenalocalnetworkisnotavailablefromtherouter: Selectthedesirednetworkunder“Settings-Wi-Fi”ontheiPhoneoriPad.

ThatwillconnectyouriPhoneoriPadwithyourlocalnetwork. ControloftheSinareShutterviatheiPhoneoriPadisnowactivated. IMPORTANT:Thesoftwareinthecomputermustbeactivated.

B-DirectviaWLAN,whenalocalnetworkisnotavailable. Tosetupacomputer-to-computernetwork,proceedasfollows:

1.Inthemenu,activate“AirPort”,thenselect“setupnew network”.

2.Assignanametothenetworkthatistobesetupandconfirm itwith“OK”.

3. OntheiPhoneoriPad,under“GeneralSettings–Wi-Fi”,callup thenetworkthathasjustbeensetup.


4.2 UsingtheSinarApp

TheAppforoperatingthetheSinareShutterviaaniPhoneisavailablefree ofchargeiniTunes. Thelinkcanalsobefoundunderwww.sinar.ch

ThefunctionsoftheSinarsoftwareareidenticaltotheoperationwith yourcomputer. Theconnectiontothecomputershouldbemadeviathenetworksetting. 1.SetthecomputerforWLAN; 2.Startthesoftwareonthecomputer(itmaybeactivatedinthe background)
