1. Summary

Welcome for using Panoramic X-ray detector XXH-3005, this type of unit is

the most ideal equipment for Non-destructive testing in the fields such as

petroleum, aviation, mechanical manufacturing, boiler, pressure vessels,

ship building, national defence industries and so on.We manufacture X-Ray

flaw detector according to the international standard of ISO3999.

The control unit of Panoramic X-ray detector XXH-3005 combines the

advantages of controllers both in china and foreign countries, it applies high

ability micro-processor and effective professional integrated circuit

components, with the advanced controlling technology, It not only can adaptto different instability environment, but also have the high reliability.

Panoramic X-ray detector XXH-3005 has new characters as following:

Checking the software and hardware itself after start the machine

Excellent anti-jamming performance, which can adapt for field operation

without power supply, because of the motor supports

Can adjust exposure parameters with keys ( easy operation.)

Has the function of Delay time opening HV. Convenient for operator keep

away from dangerous field

Can adjust high voltage slowly for protecting X-ray generator

Automatically controlling according to 1:1 working and rest operating way,

the longest continuous exposure period is 5 minutes.

Including complete protecting system: over KV, over KV, low mA, over

mA, over temperature and optical-sound alarming

Convenient for repairing and maintenance

Time can be changed for0.3 according to the power supply net to make

We have introduced the detail operation information of Panoramic X-ray

detector XXH-3005 in the manual, For better understanding various

functions of the system, please read it carefully before using.

2. Technical targets

Panoramic X-ray detector (with glass tube)

3.Configuration

This detector is made up of X-ray generator, control unit, power supply

cable, connection cable and accessories.

(note): users must not open the X-ray generator and control unit

3.1 X-ray generator

A set of X-ray generator combines X-ray tube, HT transformer (include X-

ray tube filament winding) and insulation gas (SF6) into a aluminum barrel.

One side of X-ray generator installed fan and radiator which is for tubes

cooling. for high voltage , SF6 gas is good insulation medium.

In this system the X-ray tube applies with complete electrical defeat

protection, also with the anode of X-ray tube grounded connection to stable

the single pulse voltage, there sets a temperature relay inside of X-ray

generator, once it appears over temperature, the high voltage will be cut off

from the control unit automatically to make sure the safety of the whole

system. When the alarming lamp lights, it stands for that X-ray detector is

producing X-ray.

The end collar on two side of X ray generator can be laid vertically or flat, italso can be used for moving when is working in the high altitude.

3.2 control unit

The main function of controller is to control X ray generator working on a

regulated voltage value automatically to make sure produces stable X ray,

and also controlling the exposure time automatically.

The operate panel of controller can refer to diagram 1.

Components on control panel including:

a) preparing lamp: when the lamp lights, it means machine can do

exposure this time

b) voltage indicator: when the lamp lights, X-ray generator is exposure

now

c) current indicator: when the lamp lights, means X ray generator works

well

d) 2 digital LED displayer: used for displaying exposure time or running

status

e) time adjusting: used for setting the exposure time

f) voltage setting: used for setting exposure voltage value for X ray

generator

g) X ray on: used for X ray generator exposure starting

h) X ray off: used for stop X ray generator exposure or delay KV start

i) exposure curve: adjust proper exposure parameters according to the

inspected workpiece.

4.Installation

1. After open the package box, check if there has any damages or miss

assembling according to packing list.

2. Confirm if the standard of controller is same as X ray generator, or it

will lead for the damage of X ray generator

3. Cut off the controllers power supply, connect power supply cable

well, at the same time, the power supply should satisfied with the

requirements in Technical targets

4. Connect one side of ground wire on the controller, the other side on

the ground

5. Connect the control unit to X ray generator with connected cable

6. Connect the alarming lamp to X ray generator

7. It should have X ray protect system when is using. If using in the wild

field, we can use one 2mm lead board for protection, or we can make sure

nobody in the circle of 20 meters semi-diameter which of X ray generator

as focal

8. After finish the above steps ,we should also check if the gas pressure

of X ray generator satisfied with the requirements in Technical targets, if

not, please mustnt open X rayon, avoid for the damage of X ray generator

5. Using

5.1 system starting

After finish the installation, please confirm if the cables on controller is

connected correctly, and switch the side power supply on, at this time, the

2 digital LED displayer on operate panel lights.

5.1.1system self-checking

The controller will do complete tests itself after opening. At the same time

every section of 2 digital LED displayer continuously rotate lights (if anysection not lights may have some damages)

When system self-checking, the following status stands for normal:

Preparing lamp, voltage indicator, current indicator lamp extinguish

X ray on X ray off keys have no use

following status stands for abnormal:

2 digital LED display some codes

Buzzer sounds continuously

5.1.1.1 If there has any failure, corresponding codes will shows on LED

displayer

F1: tests 89C51 RAM failure

F2: tests 89C51 EPROM failure

F3: tests X ray on key failure

F4: tests X ray off key failure

When find out the failure, users should write down the codes carefully, turn

off the power supply and contact with the manufacturer for repairing.

5.1.1.2 If the system works normally, it will display information as following

after about 30 seconds:

buzzer sounds for once or twice

LED displayer shows xx (x indicates for the value between 0 and 5.5),

at this time, operator can set detector for exposure

time can be changed for 0.3 according to net power supply fluctuation.

5.2 exposure operation

After finish the above processes, system has prepared well for exposure,

at this time, preparing lamp lights, system goes into exposure parameter

setting period.

5.2.1 exposure parameters setting

Before exposure, we should set the exposure parameters, such as the

voltage value or exposure time.

Please set the exposure parameter according to the following steps:

5.2.1.1 confirm the material and thickness of inspected workpiece

5.2.1.2 according to the density & thickness of inspected workpiece

calculate the thickness of A3 steel

5.2.1.3 check the A3 steel thickness from exposure curve table to confirm

the voltage value and exposure time

(notes): because of the differences of X ray generator, for a separate

equipment, the parameter on the curve table is not sure the best values for

exposure, operators should applies the standard modules to make their

best exposure curve according to original equipment curve table

(1) modification of voltage value

revolve the KV setting keys clockwise or anticlockwise to corresponding

the indicating line with the exposure voltage value. If revolve clockwise, the

KV value will be increased, or it will be decreased.

The setted KV value should be corresponding to the used equipment, the

range of output KV value of different type controller & X ray generator as

following:

1005 type: 20-100kv

1605 type: 40-160kv

2005 type: 100-200kv

2505 type: 150-250kv

3005 type: 170-300kv

(2) modification of exposure time setting value

exposure time can be setted by time choosing hand rotary and 2digital

LED displayer.

rotary the time choosing key clockwise or anticlockwise, at the sametime2 digital LED displaying value increase or decrease correspondingly

left side of 2digital LED stands for minutes, right side for one tenth

of minute, every value is multiple times of 6 seconds. For example, 4.5

stands for that the setted exposure time is 4 minutes and 30 seconds.

5.2.2 start exposure

After finish setting voltage value and exposure time, press X ray on key to

start exposure

5.2.3 running period

Exposure period has three processes: delay starting, exposure period and

rest period.

5.2.3.1 delay starting

After press X ray on key, convenient for operator go away from scene to

avoid radiation of X ray, before X ray on, system will delay stating for 1

minute automatically.

During the delayed period, AC and rest time timing take turns on

displayer, the value will be decreased by 6 seconds a time, at the same

time, you can also heard the alarm of didi. Sounds. Before it

decreased until 0. users can stop the system by pressing X ray off, then

the system will back to exposure setting interface; you can also press X

ray on to finish the delay stating period.

5.2.3.2 exposure period

When the delaying time decreased until 0 or operator press X ray on to

finish the delaying period, the whole system will goes into exposure period

automatically.

At first, the system will slowly increase the tube voltage and current to the

regulate value in the advanced control way. After preparing lamp on

control panel extinguished, KV lamp lights, it stands for that X ray

generator has been connected, after a while, mA lamp lights, it means

the system is on normal exposure status.

On displayer it shows the rest exposure time, when the rest exposure time

decreased until 0, the whole system will be cut off and have a rest

automatically.

If press X ray off during exposure period, the whole system will stop the

operation and cut off the high voltage of X ray generator into rest status,

after the rest time equals to the tubes working time, it will back to exposure

parameter setting status.

When there has any failure during the exposure period, controller will cut

off the high voltage of X ray generator immediately. At the same time

2digital LED displays the failure codes, buzzer rings continuously until

press X ray off

5.2.3.3 rest period

After finish the exposure period ( or stop by pressing X ray off ), system

will be cut off automatically and goes into rest period, the rest time should

equals to the tubes working time. The rest period is forced. During this

period, any key has no use, the whole lamp all extinguishes.

On displayer it shows the rest relax time, when the time decreases until 0.

the preparing lamp lights, buzzer rings a hinting sound, displayer re-

shows the exposure time, then the system re-back to exposure parameter

setting status.

5.3 alarming protection

After the X ray generator connected with high voltage. The whole system

real time monitors KV, mA, tube head temperature values of X ray

generator all the time. If there has any abnormal phenomenon such as

over KV, over mA, low mA or over temperature of the tube head, the

controller will cut off the high voltage of X ray generator , at the same time,

2digital LED displays failure codes, buzzer rings continuously, different

codes has different meaning:

UU: controller controls over KV failure

UA: system controls over mA failure

LA: system controls low mA failure

PT: X ray generator over temperature failure

AA: controlling over mA of main loop failure

If press X ray off under the alarming status, the system will stop currently

operation, after into rest period, the rest time should equals to working

time, then back to exposure parameters setting status.

(notes): when it appears failure during exposure, users should check if

here has any incorrectness of cable connection, if power supply voltage

works normally or contact with supplier for repairing.

5.4 turn off the unit

To make sure the system work stable, users just can cut off the controlling

power supply under the parameter setting status, it mustnt stop X ray unit

when X ray generator connecting with high voltage or during the rest

period.

Please reuse the unit after turn it off at least 10 seconds, or it will destroy

the inside components of the unit.

6. notices

1. make sure the standard of control unit conform to the standard of

tube head

2. make sure the cables connects well, the cable sockets clean

3. make sure the controller connected ground well

4. check the pressure of X ray generator with pressure table, it mustnt

be used below 0.35 Mpa

5. when operates access to tube head (for example, stick the film and

so on) should turn off the high voltage first.

6. make sure not turn off the machine, when tube head connected with

high voltage (during the exposure operation, include stop period) or during

the rest time of tube head

7. its better to aging for one time before using everyday, age the unit to

a voltage value, which you want to use during the exposure time, it will

benefit for the normal working of X ray tube and longer its using life.

8. when adding the length of connected cable, the sectional area of

every pin lead should fit for standards.

9. if not using the unit, it should be better to put it in a dry environmental

and also get it away from heat source, or harm gas to avoid the sunshine.
