Formal Commands:Usted y Ustedes

Commands in English

They exist, but not like in Spanish. To make a command in English, just

remove “you” You take out the trash. Take out the trash.

Like with conjugating verbs, there are different forms of commands in Spanish.

Para hacer un mandato formal…

Singular (usted):1. Conjuga el verbo en el tiempo presente,

forma de “yo” hablar → hablo tener → tengo

2. Remueve el “-o” / “-oy” del verbo hablo → habl- tengo → teng-

3. Reemplaza con la vocálica “opuesta” habl- → hable teng- → tenga
