Do you have a picture in your mind of your dream hotel and where it would be? Dream no

out into the Indian Ocean from mailand Kenya. Getting to Manda is the next question we

need to answer.

The simple answer is by aeroplane. You will arrive in Kenya at either Nairobi or Mombasa by

International Flight. From there it will be a small aircraft which will take you to Lamu, and

then onwards by private speedboat.

Even the short boat trip will let you see the high quality of care you will come to take for

granted. One of the top qualities so evident at Manda Bay is the excellent staff and helpful

owners. Naturally you will want to know more about Manda Bay, in terms of rooms, the

quality of the food, and what there is to do.

The accommodation would be a good starting point. If you have the opportunity, then book

one of the eleven beachfront bandas. The bandas are five star chic, with large comfortable

beds, good size bathrooms, plenty of storage space, and an overhead fan. You will

particularly enjoy the large verandas especially the hammock to lie in and gaze at the superb

view of the beach and turquoise sea.

Next we will look at the quality of the food. The sheer quality of the food may come as a

surprise considering how remote it is here. Meals are a real delight, always really top class.

Freshly caught fish is a feature of the menus at Manda. If you don't like the food choices,

the chefs will cook to order as well. Dining arrangements vary from the dinner party type of

set up to romantic oil lamp dinners in the bush.

Different dinner locations are a speciality at Manda Bay, and you can go off into the bush for

a romantic oil lamp dinner, or join other guests for a candlelit beachfront dinner. If you

enjoy snacks then Manda Bay does a neat line in snacks from early morning to late

afternoon.

What is there to do in such a remote location as Manda Bay. Firstly Manda Bay is often the

second week of a safari honeymoon, so it is absolutely perfect for doing little or nothing but

enjoying the scenery and devouring the food. Bird spotting, for there are some great species

here, and If you enjoy deep sea fishing that is an option, as is star gazing in the evening.

To summarise Manda Bay is the perfect romantic escape. Manda Bay is just right for

romantic foodies who want five star chic in a deserted spot on the Kenya coast.
