Managing use at home:Ideally we are all also training how to use devices effectively and building self control for times when no one is watching!

Managing use at home:- Parents MUST control iTunes and the “restrictions” passcode for users under 13 years.-Parents need access to the device when required.- Only use internet enabled devices in “family” areas.

iDevice restrictions:Some features of iDevices can be turned off or restricted for users.

These restrictions need to work alongside of management and training in appropriate use.

- Restricting Safari does not restrict internet access apps. Safari is also often needed for research.- App purchases need the iTunes password so don’t need to be OFF when a parent/guardian controls this.- YouTube and FaceTime are great resources but need to be monitored.*

- Turning “Location Services” OFF stops some apps from working. ^* to be reviewed over 2012 ^more information on Location Services coming soon

Notes on Restrictions?
