Sunshine Heroes Calcium Plus D3 The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) has stated that “most older children and adolescents in the United States currently do not achieve the recommended intake of calcium. Small Beginnings in the U.S.

I met María Dallys Caballero in Los Angeles,

California, in 1972. She had just arrived from

her native country, Colombia, hoping that a

vacation would help restore her health. She had

no relatives or friends here, and she didn’t speak

English. Eighteen years of unrewarding jobs had

sapped her energy and left her exhausted. When

she was young, a family bankruptcy had dashed

her hopes of receiving the higher education she

needed to become a social worker. All of those

years she felt unfulfilled and far removed from

her dreams of helping others.

Upon arrival in the U.S., María started

looking into natural health alternatives. I got a

referral and went to talk to her. I sold her some

products (I was not an NSP distributor at the

time), and two months later I signed her up. She

started studying English, and on Saturdays and

Sundays, she went from door to door looking

for new clients.

Persistence When did I realize that I was in the presence of a businesswoman with great potential? I once asked her what she did when someone closed the door on her. With a twinkle in her eyes she answered, “I simply move on to the next door.” She added that, “On Saturdays and Sundays, I don’t have to cook. People invite me in for breakfast or lunch!” I have admired her ever since. She never gave up. Where others failed and stopped trying, she triumphed. María advanced in that company, but its mismanagement caused us to lose years of work. With her health still lacking, she met an NSP distributor, Marie Ellison, a great lady. The NSP products María tried worked so well that she knew immediately that NSP would become the vehicle that would help her accomplish her calling in life—helping people fulfill their dreams of health and wealth. Soon after this, María started calling me up to eight times a day to tell me how marvelous NSP Bee Pollen and a cleanse were. These were the only two products that she knew. Because of her continuous calls, I even started dreaming about Bee Pollen! I finally acquiesced, and she signed me up as a Manager in July 1980. She happened to need just one more Manager to earn her first NSP Convention. María has had a long, successful career with Nature’s Sunshine, earning virtually every trophy and recognition award available.

Determination, Love for Others, Professionalism María came to this country without knowing the language, without relatives or friends to help her, not even knowing how to drive a car or use a computer! She didn’t know about vitamins or herbs. Despite obstacles and economic crises, she has developed Managers and successlines in eight countries, and now she has reached the pinnacle of success in the NSP marketing plan. I want to point out a few special times in my relationship with María:• In 1972, I signed her up in another multilevel company,

so she became my “daughter.”• In 1974, she married Jesús Caballero, and I was their

godfather, so she became my godchild.• In 1975, her mom came to visit the U.S., and she charged

me with looking after her daughter, so María became my adopted daughter.• In 1980, María signed me up in

Nature’s Sunshine, and since that day she became my “mother.”

With all of my heart, I want to congratulate María for her extraordinary example of hard work, persistence, love, dedication, positive attitude, professionalism and love for God.

“Sunshine” Means Family María says that a big portion of her success rests with Nature’s Sunshine, the best company in the world. Here, clients become friends, and friends become family.
