IBM Enterprise Content Management (ECM) Widgets V4.5.2

As a component of IBM FileNet Business Process Manager V4.5.1, ECM WidgetsV4.5.2 delivers new features and functionality designed to enable assembly ofcomplex process applications for Agile ECM. Additionally, ECM Widgets V4.5.2includes a new content widget, enabling IBM Content Manager users to leveragebusiness process management capabilities and shorten the time to build content-centric business and process applications. This offering provides the following:



• Improved Agile ECM framework to deliver a compelling design experience forbusiness and IT users, and accelerate rapid and collaborative development of end-to-end business solutions.

• Process and content widget enhancements to address complex document-centricuse cases and deliver a better design experience.

• New IBM Web Interface for Content Management (IBM WEBi) content widgetsupporting IBM Content Manager Enterprise Edition specific formats.

Description

IBM Enterprise Content Management (ECM) Widgets V4.5.2 enhancements

This release provides enhanced ECM Widgets run-time usability, configuration, andappearance by utilizing Business Space as the Agile ECM container.

IBM Content Manager Enterprise Edition customers benefit from the new end-userUI that allows them to utilize IBM FileNet Business Process Manager. These userscan now process work items that have IBM Content Manager Enterprise Editiondocuments attached. This is accomplishment because of support of a commonViewer Widget where users can view documents from IBM FileNet and IBM ContentManager Enterprise Edition within a single widget. There are also improvements tothe Attachment Widget so that both document formats can be viewed within thesame process. Users can now attach, edit, check out, check in, view, and downloadIBM Content Manager Enterprise Edition documents directly with the AttachmentWidget. The new IBM WEBi Widget exposes IBM Content Manager Enterprise Editionfunctionality where users can browse, search, and perform operations on documentstored in IBM Content Manager Enterprise Edition.

IBM Enterprise Content Management (ECM) Widgets V4.5.2 enhancements

• Step Completion Widget

Users can now directly open the next work item, reducing steps and saving time.Enhancements to process events handling allow for Step Completion Widget reuseso you can more easily implement application specific logic.

• Work Data Widget

Supports field reordering so users can define the order of data fields displayedwithin the widget.

• In-basket Widget

Enables better integration with third-party widgets. Users can wire and configurewidgets to define application-specific menu options, respond to the user selectinga new in-basket, and perform custom actions on a specific row. The event payloadhas been enhanced to provide additional critical information to third-party widgetswithout the need to make additional Process Engine calls.

You can configure IBM ECM Widgets to communicate with IBMContent Manager Enterprise Edition servers by configuring the IBM WEBi widget.The IBM WEBi widget enables users to search for and work with DB2 ContentManager documents from IBM ECM Widgets.

When you configure the IBM WEBi widget, you can use IBM ECM Widgets with:

• IBM DB2 Content Manager servers only

• IBM DB2 Content Manager servers and IBM FileNet P8 server

The IBM WEBi widget enables users to:

• Search for documents

• View documents

• Download documents and document properties

• Check out, check in, lock, and unlock documents

Charge metrics definitions

The subject programs have a new structure for licensing and pricing designedfor clarity, simplicity and unity with other products in the IBM Enterprise ContentManagement portfolio. The former approach relied upon licensing servers and users- with users licensed on a Named, Concurrent, e-business, Employee, and External



basis. This has been replaced with a new approach based on Value Units (VUs), witha primary focus on user access.

VU: VU is the unit of measure by which this program is licensed. VU Value Unitentitlements are based on the quantity of a specific designated measurement,either users or resources, for the given program. A Proof of Entitlement (PoE)must be obtained for the appropriate number of VU Value Units required foryour environment as defined by the specific program terms. External User: External Users are generally the customer's customers who willneed infrequent, read-only access to the program. License may only be used bypersons who are not employees, agents or contractors of the customer affiliates orsubsidiaries.

Add-On User License: Grants user access to incremental product capabilityin IBM FileNet Business Process Manager, given that user is already licensed forthe appropriate base functionality (for example, IBM FileNet Content Manager,IBM FileNet Content Manager Starter Pack, IBM Content Manager, IBM ContentManager Starter Pack).

Starter Pack User

The following restrictions apply:

1.You may not use an IBM FileNet BPM Starter Pack with a repository that at anytime shares an object store and a configuration database with another repository.

Trade-up license means an entitlement that enables a licensee to exchange a licenseof one IBM FileNet BPM Starter Pack to a license of the IBM FileNet Business ProcessManager program product at a specific price; a licensee may exchange a license of



one IBM FileNet BPM Starter Pack Add-On to a license of the IBM FileNet BusinessProcess Manager Add-On Program product at a specific price. Once a trade-uplicense is obtained with respect to a given FileNet BPM Starter Pack or FileNet BPMStarter Pack Add-On, the IBM FileNet Business Process Manager program licensethat the licensee receives replaces the licensee's original entitlement to the FileNetBPM Starter Pack or FileNet BPM Starter Pack Add-On and the licensee has nofurther right to use the Starter Pack.

Cumulative volume discounting

As the user quantity increases, the number of UVUs increase albeit at a slower rate.Value Unit license conversion tables establish the required number of UVUs for aspecified number of users. Volume discounting examples:

• 100 authorized users require 85 AUVUs

• 1,000 authorized users require 600 AUVUs

Resource Value Units (RVUs)

Although the subject programs are now offered under a new, streamlined licensingand pricing model, the function of the products has not changed from that ofpreviously available offerings.

Server

Server is the unit of measure by which this program is licensed. A server is acomputer system that executes requested procedures, commands, or applicationsto one or more user or client devices. A PoE must be obtained for each serverregardless of the number of processor cores or partitions in the server on which theprogram runs or each server managed by the program. Where blade technology isemployed, each blade is considered a separate server.

The subject programs have a new structure for licensing and pricing designedfor clarity, simplicity and unity with other products in the IBM Enterprise ContentManagement portfolio. The former approach relied upon licensing servers and users- with users licensed on a Named, Concurrent, e-business, Employee, and Externalbasis. This has been replaced with a new approach based on Value Units (VUs), witha primary focus on user access.

VU: VU is the unit of measure by which this program is licensed. VU Value Unitentitlements are based on the quantity of a specific designated measurement,either users or resources, for the given program. A PoE must be obtained for theappropriate number of VU Value Units required for your environment as definedby the specific program terms.
