New SoNgS of the SeaSoN:- Windy City Blues : A tale of origin describing the birth of the Chicago Blues through the influence of the Devil, himself. As most people would fearfully flock to the safety of their city dwellings at night to stay safe from the nocturnal devil and his sinful influences, the brave few would venture out to discover the power of the blues. Selling their souls to the Devil in order to learn the evil art on their guitars, they found that “the riffs were plentiful, the melodies many, but the Devil took it just alittle toofar”. As much as they were enthralled with their new immortal talent, they remained souless, eventually regreting their encounter with the Devil and his trickery. Their only way to show their sorrow was to “ball out blues cries to the public of many, and that’s how the Windy City Blues begun”. The song refers to the mysticism of talented blues musicians and their relationship with higher powers. The song alludes to the timely story of Robert Johnson at the crossroads, as well as the song,“Jesus Just Left Chicago.” - Widowmaker : The rawness of this new powerful song is reflected within the lyrics. Told from the complex persona of The Widowmaker, a violent, hot-headed, whiskey-guzzling, lonely man, always on the prowl for a new female. He will stop at nothing to get the woman he is after even if that means killing her beloved husband. The main chorus line, “Lookin’ for a woman, she’s so hard, hard, hard to find,” is ironic due to his relentlessly insane and negating attitude. The more he kills the less attractive andlonelier he becomes, forever being known as the infamous Widowmaker.

-Almost Electronic : A song describing the relationship of electricity and its influence on the power and energy of sound. Allusion in the verse describes, “Growing current in the ground, exposed in the night time, facillitating driven sounds, from which we all ignite,” and refers to the electrical power that gives us amplified music that we play, hear, love, and connect with. The chorus chant, “Shock me in the zone, with your electric tones,” refers to the receptive zone that each listening audience member maintains during a show, while the electric tones refer to the melodic notes and sounds that hit deep within us, resonating warmth, chills, and other euphoric feelings. -Deadwood Special : One of the longer and in-depth stories created goes back in time to 1874 in the town of Deadwood, South Dakota. The first verse sets the tone with “There’s something evil in the Black Hills, whispered words of a reckoning day, pistols loaded ready to kill, Deadwood Special’s what they say” The verse foreshadows the climactic shoot-out that ensues between One-Eyed Jack, a vengeful gambler and a reocurring character in Mama’s Love folklore, and the historical outlaws, Wild Bill and Calamity Jane. Jack’s hatred behind these outlaws is rather vague and unknown, however a pistol battle breaks out leaving Bill and Jane dead in a pool of blood with Jack slowly dying from a mortal wound. Before he meets his maker, Jack lights his last cigar and fades away. The most vivid and embellished verse describes the end of One-Eyed Jack as it says, “They hung Jack by the railroad, one-eyed smiling with an ace in hand, the bare wind burned his face to bone, his remnants rest in the grains of sand.” The battle went down in history as The Deadwood Special and they say you can still hear the gunshots echoing throughout the evil Black Hills near Deadwood, South Dakota.
