Choosing the right Child seat

rear-faCing: the safest way for newborn babies to travel

for infants aged from 0-12 months / up to 13kg

Newborn babies must travel in a rear-facing seat. To secure the seat, adjust the harness so the webbing comes through the harness slots behind or below the baby’s shoulders. For convenience, you can purchase a base that fits into the car with detachable carrier. Many infant seats also fit into a stroller.

forward-faCing: the safest way for toddlers to travel

the next stage – for infants aged 9 months – 3.5 years / 9kg to 18kg

These bigger seats allow children to ride forward facing. They are still used semi-reclined to keep the baby’s head on the headrest and its airway open. Harness straps still come from behind or below the shoulders.

toddler seats – for Children aged 3.5 – 12 years / 15kg to 36kg

These seats face forward in an upright position and the shoulder straps come from harness slots that are placed at or above the shoulders.

booster seats: the next step before seatbelt usebaCkless boosters – for Children from 21kg to 45kg

These booster seats have no back and must be used with a lap and shoulder belt system. The lap belt should sit low on the hips; the shoulder belt should rest on the collarbone and not cross the face or neck.

high-baCk boosters – for Children from 21kg to 45kg

This type of booster seat has a back and, sometimes, side wings near the head. It must be used with a lap and shoulder belt system. This is a good type of seat if your child falls asleep in the car.

Always keep infants and children under 12 in the back seat.

There’s more to a journey than the destination. Every moment is an opportunity to remind yourself how far you’ve already come. So why do most midsize sedans put function before all else?

A car should reward you, so that every time you step behind the wheel you’re reminded of everything you’ve achieved so far. And it should inspire you for the journey ahead, so that wherever life takes you there’s plenty to enjoy along the way.

Introducing the all new 2013 Chevrolet Malibu. Designed to be every bit as desirable as it is functional, Malibu combines a uniquely bold look, meticulous craftsmanship, and innovative technology—and all with a level of luxury and performance that raises the bar for the midsize sedan. tHe best. Too many midsize sedans go unnoticed in traffic. When we sat down to design the Malibu, we knew it had to stand out, to turn heads and stir souls. So we took design cues from the Camaro—a car that has no trouble standing out on the road—and integrated them smoothly into the design of the Malibu.

A new front fascia and grille create an uncompromising first impression. A wider track ensures a more aggressive stance, lending Malibu some serious road presence. And exquisitely formed lines and curves lead all eyes to the rear, where Camaro’s formidable essence is most apparent.

The result is a midsize sedan that’s professional, practical and elegant in everyday driving, but with an unmistakably menacing edge that just can’t be ignored.

fIrst CLass. Malibu’s whisper-quiet cabin is a sanctuary from the stresses of the working day. Surround yourself in sumptuous fixtures comparable to many luxury cars and you’ll see how meticulous craftsmanship can create an atmosphere that’s truly intimate.

From the very start of the design process, Chevrolet designers set out to create a cabin so quiet that nothing can distract from the experience of driving. Sound-dampening body panels, triple door seals, and acoustic laminated glass silence road and traffic noise. Even the side mirrors aerodynamically eliminate the sound of the wind as you cut through it.

The hand-stitched leather adorning Malibu’s dual cockpit is soft and supple, with embellishments on the steering wheel and gear knob lending a luxury touch. Stunning Ice Blue ambient lighting casts a soft glow across the cabin and makes driving after dark a breathtaking experience.

Page 5: Malibu Catalogue 2012 English

Malibu’s dual cockpit incorporates a suite of smart technologies—ranging from the practical, to the entertaining, to the simply jaw-dropping.

The centerpiece of Malibu’s cabin is a 7-inch color touch radio that lets you control several useful features through its bright, crisp screen. A navigation system displays the road ahead, while a rearview camera shows you what’s behind. Bluetooth connectivity lets you answer incoming calls with a simple tap of the touch screen, so you’re always available to take care of business on the road. The screen also glides up to reveal hidden storage space.

USB connectivity puts thousands of songs at your fingertips, and thanks to Malibu’s remote start you can step into a cool cabin, whatever the weather.

Like every Chevrolet, the 2013 Malibu is designed with the protection of you and your family at its core. So you can appreciate its stunning design and engineering with the knowledge that it was crafted around a strong foundation of safety.

Malibu comes with up to six airbags spaced throughout the cabin, including head-curtain airbags that protect both front and back rows in the event of a side impact. ECM-grade braking control, combined with StabiliTrakTM, Chevrolet’s patented electronic stability control system, ensures you remain in command of the vehicle under difficult circumstances.

And surrounding it all, a steel-enforced safety cage with high-impact crumple-zones ensures that in the event a collision is unavoidable, an intelligent cocoon of protection surrounds both driver and passengers.
