About 91% of the people that respond to your Craigslist ad will sign up at the site you are promoting. Think about it. In this economy, everyone is doing everything they can to get a job. Don’t waste your precious time reading the “legalese” description (unless you really want to). Just scroll all the way down the page until you see the “Apply for a Commission Junction publisher account” link (illustrated below):

This page should be pretty self-explanatory for signing up, but a couple of notes:

1. To join Commission Junction you need a website. Getting a website is easy. I’d suggest using someone else’s (a well written blog works best) or you can go to blogger.com and sign up for a free blog through Google. From there do a Google search on “how to post a blog” and spend a few minutes writing some posts. Write down the URL address of your new blog, and just like that you have a website.

2. Commission Junction will ask for a description of your website (or the one you are using as an alias), and you simply say “it’s a personal blog about blah blah blah.”

3. Commission Junction will ask for your primary method of marketing. Choose E-mail Marketing as this will be your primary means.

Complete the rest of the application, and within a few minutes of finishing the application you will receive an e-mail, to the e-mail address you supplied them, with all the information you need to log-in to your account. So now you have an Affiliate Marketing account. Now on to the next step… Step 2- Signing Up for a Referral Program

Referral programs are offered by big companies who pay you send people to sign up with their offers. These programs will keep track of who you send to websites and how much money is owed to you as a result. First off go to www.cj.com and with the information from the e-mail, sign into your Commission Junction account. You should see the following screen:

Next you want to go to “Get Links” (illustrated below):

Under “Advertiser Categories” you need to select “Employment” which is under the “Careers” section (illustrated below).



Once the next page is up, scroll down a little ways and you will have a list of companies (illustrated below):



All of these companies will pay you based on the number of people you can get to either buy their product (that’s where you make the serious cash as described at 3M-Club.com) or get people to sign up as leads. In this method, you are going to make money from leads. So click on “Lead” in the header row which is located above all the companies (illustrated below):

Scroll down and look for Beyond.com:




Click on the link and you will be brought to this page:

Scroll all the way down and there will be a link to “Apply To Program.”

Click the button and a box will pop up saying you are automatically accepted into the program. Go back to the last page with the affiliate information and click on the “Text Link” in the “Get Links” box on the left hand side of the screen (illustrated below).

Click “Text Link” under “Find a New Job.”

Toward the bottom of this screen is a button for “Get HTML.” Select that button:

You will see a screen like below:

At the bottom of the screen will be a code for an image banner. You do not want the image banner. What you need is the code highlighted below (yours will have a different code to track your individual sales than what is illustrated below):



Copy this code by pushing “CTRL+C” on your keyboard. Now open a Microsoft word document and paste it to the new document by pushing “CRTL+V” on your keyboard. Save the document as “Reply Letter.” You are now done opening a Commission Junction account and saving the affiliate link. Now you will create the letter that will make you your money… Step 3- Create your reply letter. You are going to need a standard reply letter using the code you copied in above once people start applying for the jobs you post on Craigslist. I am going to give you the letter I have used, but try to see if you can put your own spin on it:

Dear Applicant:

Thank you for your interest in Sidney & Son’s Law Offices’ Administrative Aid position. I have just completed reviewing over 450 applications (yes it was an extremely long and arduous task) and yours along with about 15 others stood out. As a result I want to invite you to a phone interview. Here's the process:

1. All potential employees' applications are stored digitally at our home office. Sidney & Son’s has a database that utilizes Beyond.com's website. Complete their application here and record the website address your profile is viewed at.

2. Send me an e-mail ([email protected]) with a list of times you are available in the next 7 days along with the website address of your profile.

3. I will get back to you with a time to set up an interview within 24 of receiving your e-mail along with the three questions you will be required to answer as a part of the phone interview process.

Please be available at the times you list as being available, as unfortunately we cannot reschedule interviews once they are set.

Thank you for your time and I look forward to speaking with you in the near future.

And that my friend is the letter that will make you money. With the economy being as bad as it, there are no shortage of job applicants, especially in fields that have a high supply of qualified applicants. Think about it—pretty much anyone with a high school degree can get an Administrative Aid position. As a result, there will always be a high volume of replies. In addition, people are willing to do pretty much whatever it takes to get a job, and if you tell them that they are in the running for getting the job (for example setting up a phone interview), people will do whatever it takes to get the job including signing up at your website. So a couple of notes. In the letter you will see “Beyond.com’s website” and “application here” highlighted in blue and underlined. What you want to do is put your cursor and highlight both of these phrases, and then right click and select “Hyperlink.” (see illustration below):

The screen illustrated below will pop up. Remember that link you copied from Commission Junction and saved as Reply Letter? Well at the bottom of the “Edit Hyperlink” box you want to plug that address into the “Address” and select “OK.” After that, repeat the above steps for “application here” in the text of the letter. Test the code and the link to make sure it brings up Beyond.com’s website.



After the letter is complete, you need to set up two e-mail addresses. In the letter above I set up an e-mail address for Sidney & Son’s Law Offices at [email protected] and then another e-mail for the hiring manager at [email protected]. Whether you use G-Mail or not is unimportant. All you need is two separate e-mail accounts as they are referenced in your reply letter. These will be important as you post your jobs. Whatever e-mail address you set up for the hiring manager, you will want to put in the reply letter as the contact information for applicants to reply to. By getting people to reply to that e-mail address you can make literally make thousands of dollars with one e-mail reply as described at 3M-Club.com. Save the reply letter and you are ready to post your first job… Step 4- Posting a job on Craigslist Go to www.craigslist.com. As you look at the website, you will notice that you have your US cities on the left. The first city I selected was Detroit, and I’ll tell you why. I did a quick search on Google to see which large cities had the highest unemployment rate, and Detroit was number 1. For the way we are making money, this is good because it means a lot of replies to your job posting. Now, some cities like LA and New York will make you pay $25 for a job posting. The potential to make a thousand dollars in a month are with these two cities, but for the first time, you will stick to a city were you do not have to pay money. After all I want you to make money with no money invested like I did when I started 3M-Club.com.

For this exercise we are going to post to “admin/office jobs,” although you can post to any job section you please, I’ve found positions like this pretty much anyone with a high school education can get and have the highest number of people who will reply to your job posting. Other sections are writing jobs and customer service jobs. But for now select “admin/office jobs,” and here’s the screen you will see:



Below is the posting I use for this position. Here’s the letter, but try and put your own words for the post. The “Posting Title” reads as follows: Real Estate Law Firm Seeks Administrative Assistant- $37440-$47840 DOE. Then the “Posting Description” reads as follows: Sidney & Son’s Law Office is a medium sized law firm that specializes commercial real estate law world-wide. We are seeking a full-time Office Manager to provide administrative support to our staff and office, including, but not limited to: data entry, photocopying, filing, mailings, invoice processing, and setting up for events. Qualifications: *High attention to detail and ability to be meticulous in his/her work. *Strong computer proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word. *Ability to track and record the status of his/her work. *Hard work ethic *Personable personality *High School diploma; some college preferred Availability

Generally speaking you want to offer a compensation 10% above what everyone else is offering. This will make your posting attractive to job seekers and make them take the extra step to land the job. It’s very important that for “Reply to Email address for applicants” be the same e-mail you created as your company e-mail address. Further select “use this e-mail address as my reply-to” so potential employees reply directly to you and not through Craigslist. So the e-mail section needs to look like this:



After this, leave the other sections blank and click continue:

You’ll be taken to a preview of what your ad will look like:

The next page you will be taken to is the “Terms of Use” page. Scroll down the page and select “ACCEPT the terms of use.”



You will be taken to a page that will make sure you are not a robot posting ads all over the world. Enter the text displayed in the box and click continue.

Go to the e-mail account that you created and you will have mail from Craigslist.

Open the mail up and it will have the link highlighted in the illustration below. Click that link.



You will be taken to a page that will allow you to publish your posting. Once again you will get a chance to review the job posting. If you are satisfied, select “Publish.”

The link after “Your posting can be seen at:” will be the link that will take you to your posting and display it the same way job seekers will see the ad.



And just like that your ad is published to the world.

Step 5- Cashing in on Craigslist Now it’s time to make money. Given the economy, you and I both know that there will be no shortage of people looking for jobs. I ran an ad like this in Boise, Idaho and had 123 replies sitting in my e-mail account in 4 hours for the position I posted! Remember that reply letter I had you draft. In case you forgot here it is below:



Dear Applicant:

Thank you for your interest in Sidney & Son’s Law Offices’ Administrative Aid position. Have that letters ready to go. Generally I wait a few days before I send out replies. But when I do, I simply log into the same e-mail account I used to post the Craigslist ad and respond to every e-mail with the letter shown above. By simply selecting the whole letter from my word processing application, cutting it from my word processing software, and pasting it into each e-mail, I can reply to around 250 e-mails in less than an hour.



Craigslist will keep your ad active for 30 days. Every three or four days, go in and reply to job posters. Every few days log into your Commission Junction web page, and watch as your account starts to make money. And in your spare time, make plans on what you are going to do with that money. Now you’ve made yourself some money with one city, now it’s time to repeat the whole process in another city. Helpful Hints:

• Cities like L.A., New York, Chicago and other big cities can make huge returns. • Backpages and Kinjji have similar job posting sites where you can run your ads.

Even better is that you can run them for free with these sites in cities like L.A., New York, Chicago and other major cities.

• Don’t limit yourself to the U.S. If you think the American job outlook is bad, you should see other countries. Make sure your job postings allow them to work from the comfort of their own home to get replies. My returns more than tripled when I started posting in countries like Russia, Mexico, and India where a majority of the population needs jobs.

• A job ad in a major newspaper will cost you money, but can also generate a lot of responses if you tell people to respond to your e-mail address with interest in your job posting.

• Google “G-Mail Contact Extractor.” You can use the program to extract all the people that respond to your ad and then send out one mass e-mail by listing all the e-mail address in the BCC field of your e-mails. No one will know who else is getting the response other than the individual receiving the e-mail. This can make an hour of responding to e-mails turn into less than 1 minute and allow you to make thousands much more quickly. More information on how to use the tool is
