*It is not necessary to blow dry the hair until it feels 100% dry to the touch. When you begin drying the treatment onto the hair, it will feel damp and have a shiny appearance. As the shiny appearance changes to a matte finish and begins to separate or is more free flowing as you brush through, you are ready to begin drying the next section. Over drying the hair may remove the treatment from the hair before the sealing/smoothing process is complete and interfere with achieving maximum results.

*If fog or haze occurs during this step, your blow dryer is too close to the hair. or the setting is too hot.

Necessary ToolsComb, fine-tooth comb, towels, large round or paddle brush, tint bowl, tint brush, gloves, blow dryer, clips and a ceramic flat iron with heat range to 450º F.

If a hair color service is needed the same day as an Amino Fusion Smoothing Treatment, color processing should be performed after Amino Fusion is complete and throughly shampooed from the hair.

1. Shampoo hair twice with Clear One Anti-Residue Shampoo. Do not condition.

2. Rinse thoroughly. Comb to remove tangles and dry hair 80-90% dry.

3. Determine where your client parts their hair and section accordingly using 4 primary sections. Shake well before dispensing Amino Fusion Smoothing Treatment.

4. Begin with 1 oz. and add as necessary. Do not pour left over treatment back into bottle. Reserve a separate bowl and brush in the dispensary for Amino Fusion Smoothing Treatment to eliminate the possibility of cross-contamination with other chemicals such as color, bleach, etc.

5. Begin application at neckline using 1/4 inch horizontal subsections. Apply the smoothing treatment 1/2 inch from scalp to ends.

6. Thoroughly comb the subsection with a fine tooth comb to evenly distribute smoothing treatment. If excess treatment accumulates on the comb, pull down the next subsection and work the excess in to the hair before adding more treatment. TIP: To determine if enough treatment has been applied, press hair between fingers and palm along the length of the subsection. If the hair stays together uniformly, it has su�cient coverage. If the hair separates or parts, it does not have enough treatment.

7. Complete application to the entire head. Using a fine tooth comb, comb through the hair. Any excess smoothing treatment that accumulates on the comb should be wiped onto a towel.

8. Allow hair to process at room temperature:

Amino Fusion Original Formula should process for a minimum of 15 minutes. To maximize curl reduction, process 30-45 minutes.

Extra Strength Amino Fusion should process for a minimum of 30 minutes. To maximize curl reduction, process 45 minutes.

9. Use a brush and comfortable tension to blow dry the treatment onto the hair using 2-3 inch subsections.

Applying tension is part of the smoothing process. Hood dryers are never recommended. Keep a distance of 10 - 12 inches between the hair and blow dryer. Never allow the blow dryer to touch the hair. The hair should have a “beachy” feel when this step is complete.

Once the blow dry step is complete, section the hair into 4 primary sections. Refer to the appropriate charts below.

10. Always begin sealing/smoothing at neckline using ¼ inch horizontal subsections and the appropriate temperature for your client’s hair type. Make quick, smooth passes from root to end.

*Passing the flat iron too slowly over the hair will cause excess steam and fog in the salon. If this occurs, move flat iron faster through each section. 11. Complete sealing process over the entire head.

12. Allow hair to rest and cool down for a minimum of 15 minutes.

13. Rinse treatment out of the hair for 3 to 5 minutes. Shampoo and condition with f450 Smooth Balance Shampoo and Condition. Allow condition to remain in hair for 3 minutes and rinse well. It is important to shampoo and condition the hair with Smooth Balance in the salon to restore the pH level of the hair to neutral. It also ensures proper rinsing of the treatment will occur and will not be responsible for any residual odor.

14. Dry and style hair using brush and blow dryer.
