  • Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan

    • Atmanirbhar Bharat, which translates to 'self-reliant India’ aims to make the nation “a bigger and more important part of the global economy”.

    • Under the mission, 20 lakh crore of the package was announced. This economic package was 10% of India’s GDP.

    • Also, the government of India is to support key sectors MSME, labor, cottage industry, etc. and also help achieve measures undertaken by the Reserve Bank of India.

  • Pradhan Mantri Matsya SampadaYojana (PMMSY)

    • Flagship scheme for focused and sustainable development of the fisheries sector, with an estimated investment of Rs. 20,050 crore for a period of 5 years.

    • Special focus on employment generation activities such as seaweed and ornamental fish cultivation.

    • Bring new interventions such as fishing vessel insurance, support for new/up-gradation of fishing vessels/boats, etc.

    • Target: Enhance fish production by an additional 70 lakh tonne and increase fisheries export earnings to Rs.1,00,000 crore by 2024-25.

  • Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan

    • Ministry of Social justice and Empowerment launched Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan in more than 272 districts.

    • The plan has following aims:

    1. To create awareness generation programs

    2. To focus on campuses of higher educational institutions and schools.

    3. To establish treatment facilities and necessary infrastructure in hospitals.

    4. To establish integrated rehabilitation Centre for addicts

  • National Digital Health Mission (NDHM)

    • PM Modi announced the launch of National Digital Health Mission (NDHM) on 74th Independence Day.

    • The NDHM is implemented by the National Health Authority (NHA) under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

    • The digital platform will be launched with four key features — health ID, personal health records, Digi Doctor and health facility registry.

    • The national health ID will be a repository of all health-related information of every Indian. The Digi Doctor option will allow doctors from across the country to enroll with their details.

  • PM SVANidhi Scheme

    • The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) has launched Pradhan Mantri Street Vendor's Atma Nirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi), for providing affordable loans to street vendors.

    • As per the scheme, vendors, hawkers, thelewale, etc. can avail a working capital loan of up to Rs. 10,000, which is repayable in monthly instalments within a year. The loans would be without collateral.

    • The number of applications received by the Government of India under PM-SVANidhi Scheme crossed 5 lakhs in 41 days of its launch.

  • MANODARPAN: Mental Health Initiative

    • Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD) has launched the 'Manodarpan' initiative.

    • It is aimed to provide psychosocial support to students, family members and teachers for their mental health and well-being during the times of Covid-19.

    • The Manodarpan platform includes a national toll free helpline for students of schools, universities and colleges, which will be manned by a pool of experienced counsellors, psychologists and mental health professionals.

  • Sahakar Mitra Scheme

    • The Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare has launched Sahakar Mitra (internship scheme).

    • The scheme will help cooperative institutions access new and innovative ideas of young interns.

    • It will provide the young professionals an opportunity of practical exposure and learning from the working of National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) and cooperatives as a paid intern.

    • Eligibility:

    1. Graduates in disciplines such as Agriculture and allied areas, IT, etc.

    2. Professionals who are pursuing or have completed their MBA degrees in Agribusiness, Cooperation, Finance, International Trade, Forestry, Rural Development, Project Management, etc.

  • Vandhe Bharat Mission

    • Vande Bharat Mission is the biggest air, sea and land evacuation exercise to bring back Indian citizens stranded abroad due to the coronavirus-induced travel restrictions.

    • Till 10th October 2020, more than 17 lakh stranded Indians have been brought back by air, sea and land across multiple borders.

    • The program named Samudra Setu by Indian navy entails to bring back around two thousand Indians in two ships during the first phase of evacuation.

    • Airline: Air India and its subsidiary Air India Express

  • Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Ann Yojana (PMGKAY)

    • It is food security welfare scheme announced by the PM Modi in March 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic in India and is operated by the Department of Food and Public Distribution under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution.

    • Initially, the scheme was launched for the period from April—June 2020, with a cost of ₹1.70 lakh crore. The scheme was further extended to November 2020.

    • 5 kg free wheat/rice to be provided to more than 80 crore people – to each member of a family – along with 1 kg free whole chana per family, per month

  • Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan RojgarYojana (PMGKRY)

    • The scheme aims to boost employment and livelihood opportunities for migrant workers returning to villages, in the wake of COVID-19 outbreak.

    • Scheme focuses on durable rural infrastructure and providing modern facilities like internet in the villages.

    • Rs 50,000 Crore worth project to be implemented in a mission mode campaign.

    • Skill Mapping of the rural migrant labor being done to help them work closer home.

  • Kisan Rail Scheme

    • Kisan Rails are the first ever multi commodity trains.

    • These trains with refrigerated coaches will help in bringing perishable agricultural products like vegetables, fruits to the market in a short period of time.

    • These trains are a step towards realizing the goal of doubling farmers’ incomes by 2022.

    • Any farmer or any other interested party can directly book their consignments in trains, without any lower limit on the size of consignment.

  • Suposhit Maa Abhiyan

    • Keeping newborn and pregnant women healthy is the main objective of the ‘Suposhit Maa Abhiyaan’.

    • About 1000 kits of 17 kg balanced diet were provided to 1,000 pregnant women in the first phase of the campaign.

    • The campaign will not only look after pregnant women but also newborn babies will be part of this scheme.

    • Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla recently launched a national campaign from Kota, Rajasthan.

  • Tilhan Mission

    • In February 2020, the Agricultural Minister Narendra Singh Tomar announced that the Government of India is to launch “TILHAN MISSION” to boost the oil seed production.

    • The oilseeds account for 13% of the cropped area in the country. Still, India is the largest importer of palm oil in the world.

    • Hence the government will launch Tilhan Mission to make the country self-reliant in oilseed production.

  • National Supercomputing Mission

    • NSM is a proposed plan by GoI to create a cluster of 70 supercomputers connecting various academic and research institutions across India.

    • In April 2015 the government approved the NSM with a total outlay of Rs.4500 crore for a period of 7 years.

    • It will provide supercomputing infrastructure to meet the increased computational demands of academia, researchers, MSMEs, and startups by creating the capability design, manufacturing, of supercomputers indigenously in India.

    • Two supercomputers from India — PARAM Siddhi-AI (63rd) and Mihir (146th)—have made it to the TOP500 list of the world’s most powerful supercomputers.

  • Mission Solar Chakra

    • The Solar Charkha Mission was initiated by the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME).

    • The Scheme will boost the rural economy and help in arresting migration from rural to urban areas.

    • The target of the mission is to cover 50 solar clusters across the country. Under the Scheme, approximately 1,00,000 beneficiaries are to be covered.
