COORDINATED PROJECT PROCESS
• Key tool to streamline and coordinate complex environmental assessment
• Benefits single point of contact through OCG and OCG conditions
• A project may be declared a coordinated project by the CG
where involving one or more of the following:o Complex approval requirements across all levels of
government (Cth, State and local govt. approvals)
o Significant environmental effectso Strategic significance to the locality, State or regiono Significant infrastructure requirements
• Two types of coordinated projects:o Requiring an EISo Requiring an IAR – simpler/shorter process

• Key tool to fast track delays in approvals and speed up project construction
• A project may be declared a prescribed project where of economic and/or social significance to Queensland. A CP can also be declared a PP.
• Benefits: CG has the following intervention powers to assist:o Progression notice – requires the assessment manager to progress the
assessment within a specified timeframe;o Notice to decide – requires the assessment manager to decide the
application within a specified timeframeo Step-in notice – allows the CG (with the Minister’s approval) to assume
responsibility for decision making. The CG’s decision following a step-in notice is final and may not be appealed.

• MacMines Austasia’s proposal includes a coal mine yielding up to 38 million tonnes per annum of thermal coal for export.
• Project includes open-cut and underground coal mines, coal handling and preparation plant, tailings and water storage facilities, airstrip and accommodation village
• The Coordinator-General has accepted the EIS and is now preparing his evaluation report.
• The start of construction is subject to gaining necessary State and Commonwealth government approvals and commercial agreements, such as port capacity and rail connection to the Port of Abbot Point.
O L I V E D O W N SPROJECT
LOCATION 40KM SE MORANBAH, BOWEN BASIN

• The project comprises a metallurgical open-cut coal mine, an 18 kilometre rail spur to the Norwich Park Branch Railway, a water
pipeline to the Eungella pipeline network and an electricity transmission line and access roads.
• The project would produce 14 million tonnes of coking coal per annum
for steel production.• The proponent has submitted a draft EIS. If the Coordinator-General
decides that it addresses the Terms of Reference to his satisfaction,
the community will be invited to have their say on the project.
D A Y D R E A M I S L A N DREPAIR & REFURBISHMENT PROJECT

JOBS 180 OPERATIONAL (CONSTRUCTION TBC)
• The China Capital Investment Group is repairing and refurbishing the island after damage sustained by tropical cyclone Debbie.
• Features 290 rooms in a refurbished 4.5 star resort
• Expected to re-open in late 2018.
• Project includes:– Expansion of beachfront, infinity and central lagoon pools and
refurbishment of Living Reef marine exhibit
– Expanded food and beverage offering with three restaurants and five bars
– Repairs and upgrades to marine infrastructure and ancillary facilities
H A Y M A N I S L A N D PROJECT
• Mulpha Group are repairing damage sustained during tropical Cyclone Debbie, with the project comprising:– Removal of debris and damaged infrastructure
– Redevelopment of the resort’s accommodation (160 rooms), staffing village and ancillary facilities
– Extensive replacement of exotic species landscaping
• Expected to re-open mid-2019
• A development application for repairs and a minor extension to the existing marina is currently under assessment.

JOBS 436 CONSTRUCTION + 245 OPERATIONAL
• The project comprises a 395-berth marina, 109 room hotel, 70 unit
retirement resort and a retail and dining precinct.
• Shute Harbour Marina Development Pty Ltd has commenced
designing a marina breakwater structure.
• The next step will be to seek further approvals required in
connection with the project.
• 75 per cent of operational jobs (184) expected to be filled using local labour.
I S A A C P L A I N S MINING COMPLEX
• Stanmore Coal Ltd are currently mining the last reserves of Isaac Plains Mine, extracting coking and thermal coal for export.
• The new projects comprises a substantial expansion to extend the life of the mine.
• Isaac Plains East open cut mine to commence mining operations shortly
and is expected to yield 1.6-1.8 million tonnes per annum over 8 years.• Isaac Plains Underground is undergoing feasibility studies to commence
mining in early 2020, yielding 1.3 million tonnes per annum over 10
years.• Stanmore Coal Ltd are committed to a DIDO employment strategy for
local workers from regional towns.
