Julias has consistently established itself as the leading Firearms auction house in the world for high end, expensive firearms. As a result of this reputation, some of the foremost collectors and institutions holding collections and valuable guns have used Julias for the marketing of their important collections. It is with the greatest of pride that we present our October 2014 Firearms Auction which will include another extraordinary array of collections amassed from all over North America and throughout the world. Included in this auction:

The Spectacular Springfield Arsenal, LLC Collection of Rare Artillery and Cannons put together by John Morris: Mr. Morris is perhaps the worlds foremost expert on antique cannons and artillery today. His superb collection is one of the most extensive of its type ever offered at auction and will be offered in two parts. The first session to be included in this sale.

The Extraordinary Evergreen Ventures Collection of Class IIIFormerly on Loan to the Evergreen Museum: This remarkable collection was amassed by the late Captain Michael King Smith. We believe this to be the largest and most significant collection of Class III weapons and parts to have been offered at auction in many, many, many years. In assembling the collection, Captain Smith was fortunate to have acquired the renowned collections of Dolf Goldsmith and Ralph Wong. Portions of this extensive collection will be marketed by Julias and the parts along with the more moderately valued Class III items will also be sold at Poulins Auction Company. Due to the size, the offering has been divided up into two sessions. The first session to be sold in our October 2014 auction and the second session to be offered in the March 2015 auction. This is an extraordinary event for all enthusiasts of Class III.

The Class III Collection of Brigadier General Theo C. Mataxis: This small, discerning collection of captured Class III weapons was put together by Brig. Gen. Theo C. Mataxis. Each piece will be accompanied by provenance concerning its original capture.

Collection of Dr. Geoffrey Sturgess of Rare Autoloading Weapons (Zurich, Switzerland): This collection is unquestionably the finest and most comprehensive collection of autoloading weapons currently in private hands to date. Prototypes, guns with historical provenance, experimental examples, high quality condition and extreme rarity are standard attributes of many of the items to be offered. This is the third of various sessions to dispose of this monumental world class collection.

The Expansive Collection of Dr. Douglas Sirkin: This is the third session of the previously unknown Collection of Dr. Douglas Sirkin. The collection represents a treasure trove of rare and choice arms. His collection of raised carved Kentucky rifles is one of the most significant of its type to ever come to

auction. This session also includes a number of fine antique English and European arms. The Lifetime Collection of Leyton & Lewis Yearout of Montana. The Yearout Collection is an

extremely diverse collection of quality Winchesters, Colts, Sharps, Marlins, Springfields, and other fine firearms. This collection was amassed over their lifetimes and a number of the guns have interesting provenance.

The Outstanding Collection of John and Gordon Montague: Attorney John Montagues Collection from Memphis, Tennessee has been a lifelong endeavor and many of the guns offered here have been in his collection for 50 years or more. It includes a diverse collection of quality Kentucky pistols, Colts, and rare Southern Derringers.

The Judge George Greene Collection of Antique Arms and Historical Civil War Objects: These items are drawn from the late Judge Greenes museum. (Additional items to be offered in our February 2015 Fine Arts, Asian & Antiques auction)

The Bill Phifer Collection of Rare and Extraordinary Custom Model 21 Winchester Shotguns: Mr. Phifers renowned collection is the most significant of its type anywhere in the world today. Each of the guns was specifically ordered directly from the Winchester Custom Shop, never shot, and in fact, never during his ownership were they removed from the box and assembled. This offering is spectacular for its condition but more importantly for the rarity and artistry of these renowned American shotguns.

In addition to these outstanding collections, as always there is an extensive offering of wonderful, high quality, and rare Colts, Winchesters, Marlins, superb military items, and historical items. Including a Smith & Wesson K22 formerly owned by First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt, a platinum pocket watch formerly owned by Al Capone, an important presentation Spencer Sporting rifle presented to Gideon Welles, Abraham Lincolns Secretary of Navy, fine suits of armor, and two superb and important oil on canvas paintings by Percival Leonard Rosseau. Rosseau held the reputation as one of the finest sporting dog painters of the 20th century. Last but not least is the superb offering of sporting arms to be offered. We have for many years now consistently presented the most extensive offering of high end sporting arms in the world. This auction may eclipse all others in quality and content. The offering is truly outstanding whether it is rare quality American sporting arms or European and English sporting arms. The selection is spectacular. As is consistently the case, this sale presents the greatest auction buying opportunity in the world for high end quality arms. In addition to the offering of this extraordinary array of arms will be the Poulin Auction Company presenting nearly 4,000 moderately priced arms immediately preceding our auction, October 3, 4, 5 & 6.

    Auction: 10:00 am each morning. Preview: Oct. 3, 4, 5 & 6; 9 am - 5 pm daily; mornings of the sale 8 10 am.
