When asked to define “giving,” Anne said, “My mother used to say, ‘the best way to find yourself is to lose yourself, by focusing on the needs of others rather than on oneself.’ So, giving has always been an important family value, which in my childhood was reinforced by the community experience of surviving The Depression.” Jim passed away in 2009, but Anne maintains the tradition of helping others, which, by now has become a lifestyle. Anne is proud to be a supporter of Florida Studio Theatre.

“The moon was shining bright upon the clearing, and there in the centre lay the unhappy maid where she had fallen, dead of fear and of fatigue. But it was not the sight of her body, nor yet was it that of the body of Hugo Baskerville lying near her, which raised the hair upon the heads of these three daredevil roysterers, but it was that, standing over Hugo and plucking at his throat, there stood a foul thing, a great, black beast, shaped like a hound, yet larger than any hound that ever mortal eye has rested upon...”

“Such is the tale, my sons, of the coming of the hound which is said to have plagued the family so sorely ever since.”

-Excerpt from The Hound of the Baskervilles by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
