The American Maine-Anjou Association and our

members appreciate your interest in the 2016 Bright

Lights Sale. This year we have an outstanding group

of bulls, females, and embryos to offer. The Maine-

Anjou breed is picking up steam and if you are not

on already...it’s time to get on the train! Through

the years our breeders have stayed committed to

improving the cattle and it is evident in this sale

offering. I believe the beef industry is looking for

something to freshen up the genetic pool of the U.S.

cowherd. MAINE-ANJOU can do this in a docile,

calving friendly, black-hided, feed efficient, muscular

package that is modern and versatile in mature size.

Our breeders have done a fabulous job improving

calving ease while still maintaing the ability to grow

and improve carcass yields. Please let me or any the

Terms: Terms of the sale are cash or check, pay-able immediately upon conclusion of the sale and before animals will be moved. Seller will reserve the right to require a certificate check as settlement before releasing any cattle.

Risk: All animals are the owner’s risk prior to their sale and become property of the purchaser as soon as declared “sold” by the auctioneer (but will be cared for at the pur-chaser’s risk for a reasonable length of time).

Bidding: All animals sell to the highest bidder. Any disputes or challenges regarding bids will be settled by the auctioneer and his decision will be final.

Health: All animals sell with proper individual health certificates making them eligible for transport to most destinations within the U.S.

Announcements: Announcements from the auction block will take precedence over the printed matter in this catalog.

Registry Certificates: All animals shall carry papers from the American Maine-Anjou Association. All papers will be transferred and mailed to the new owner at the consignor’s expense.

Shipping: Assistance will be given in making shipment after the sale, but no risk will be assumed by the seller. Expenses incident thereto are the responsibility of the purchaser, who should furnish shipping instructions at time of settlement.

Breeding Guarantee: Bulls: All bulls are guaranteed to be breeders. It will be the responsi-bility of the buyer to have the bull semen tested before he is turned out with cows or before 15 months of age, which-ever comes first. If not done, the seller is not responsible.

Any bull that has not proven himself a breeder, the matter shall be reported in writing to the seller within six (6) months following the purchase or six (6) months after the bull has reached 15 months of age. Seller will then have the right or privilege of six (6) months to prove the bull a breeder. Any bull that has not proven himself a breeder that is healthy and in good condition may be returned to the seller at the buyer’s expense. If the bull should fail to prove a breeder, the seller at his option, can return either purchase price to the buyer or replace the animal with another of equal value in settlement and satisfaction of all claims. In no event, shall the seller be responsible for more than purchase price. If the bull becomes a non-breeder by reason of injury, negligence or mismanagement, the seller’s guarantee shall be void.

Liabilities: It is to be clearly understood that the AMAA, the sale manager and all their representatives act only as a medium between the buyer and seller. They are not responsible in any way for failure on the part of the buyer and seller to live up to his/her obligations to collect or enforce collections of monies between parties. Any legal actions, that may in exceptional cases be taken, must be buyer and seller.

Accidents: Although every precaution will be taken to protect the safety and comfort of the buyers and those attending the sale, the AMAA, or seller, or sale man-ager do not assume any responsibilities in the matter and each disclaims any liability, legal or otherwise, in the event of an accident or loss of property.

Contract: The above terms and conditions of sale shall constitute a contract between buyer seller of each animal and be equally binding on both. Animals that are resold following purchase in this sale shall constitute a separate transaction and the rights and obligations of the two parties connected thereto are not covered by these sale terms and conditions.
