In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products? My groups opening sequence can be compared to the genre ‘Urban Drama’ My analysis of an opening sequence didn’t relate to this genre so I’m going to talk about one of my group member Shannon’s; she analysed ‘Anuvahood’ In some aspects this compares to films of this type because of the way our characters and Anuvahood’s characters are dressed and how they act and carry themselves.

In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media

products?• My groups opening sequence can be compared to the genre ‘Urban Drama’ My

analysis of an opening sequence didn’t relate to this genre so I’m going to talk about one of my group member Shannon’s; she analysed ‘Anuvahood’ In some aspects this compares to films of this type because of the way our characters and Anuvahood’s characters are dressed and how they act and carry themselves.

How does your media product represent particular social groups

• Myself and my group constructed our characters by taking into consideration their ages, races, genders, class, sexuality and if they had any disabilities. Most of our groups actors were of a black race. The males and one females costumes consisted mainly of jeans, tracksuits and hoodies and trainers. The other girl wore a Mac coat with jeans.

What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

• Channel 4 would distribute my groups media product because they show content which is similar to our genre which is teen urban/drama. I think they would distribute it because recently they’ve been showing many teen drama’s and it has been very popular.

How did you attract/address your audience?

• Myself and my group attracted our target audience by incorporating colloquial language in our film. We did this because it related to our target audience age range. Characters costumes could also be related to because this is basic clothing that our target audience wears as we showed in our primary research questionnaires.

What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

• I have learnt how to use a number of things such as Final Cut, all the camera equipment for example the beam pole, tripod and camera. Final Cut is what I used to edit my final film. I learnt how to add motions to the film, change the colour (desaturate), cut out parts I didn’t need and add in text and titling. I learnt how to record on the camera and set up the tripod and headphones on it and hold the beam pole in the right position to get accurate sound.

Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression it to

the full product?• In my preliminary task there were quite a few changes that had to be

made such as planning before filming because our group in the preliminary task never did this. I have also learnt how to manage time and keep to that time so everything goes to plan. The shooting script helped along with this. I have learnt how to use Final Cut in a lot more detail this is apparent in my final film in comparison to my preliminary task film. My group and I also got the hang of separating roles so things get done more efficiently. All in all I believe that my main film was a success and am pleased with the final product.
