Administrator’s Corner Second Sunday of Lent, March 12, 2017

FASTING AND FEASTING

Lent should be more than a time of fasting. It should also be a joyous season of feasting. Lent is a time to fast from certain things and feast on others. It is a season to turn to God.

Fast from judging others; feast on the Chr ist dwelling in them. Fast from emphasis on our differences; feast on the unity of all life. Fast from apparent darkness; feast on the reality of light. Fast from thoughts of illness; feast on the healing power of God. Fast from words that tear down; feast on words and phrases that build up. Fast from discontent; feast on gratitude. Fast from anger ; feast on patience. Fast from pessimism; feast on optimism. Fast from worry; feast on divine providence and order . Fast from guilt; feast on freedom. Fast from complaining; feast on appreciation. Fast from negatives; feast on affirmatives. Fast from unrelenting pressures; feast on unceasing prayer . Fast from hostility; feast on non-resistance. Fast from bitterness; feast on forgiveness. Fast from selfishness; feast on compassion for others. Fast from discouragement; feast on hope. Fast from facts that depress; feast on truths that uplift. Fast from apathy; feast on enthusiasm. Fast from suspicion; feast on trust. Fast from thoughts that weaken; feast on promises that inspire. Fast from shadows of sor row; feast on the sunlight of serenity. Fast from idle gossip; feast on purposeful silence. Fast from doing; feast on being. Fast from being so busy; feast on quiet silence. Fast from problems that overwhelm us; feast on prayer ful trust. Fast from talking; feast on listening. Fast from being in control; feast on sur render ing.

Pick three that speak to your heart and work on those this Lent. Pray about them. Ask for specific graces to transform you, like: “God, I ask for the grace to feast on phrases that purify others and myself, and for help to abstain from words that tear down.” God always answers prayers for grace, but be open because God often does not answer them in the way we expect. Lenten Regulations

Abstinence: Everyone 14 years of age and older is bound to abstain from meat on all Fridays in Lent.

Fast: Everyone between 18 years of age and 60 is also bound to fast on Good Friday. To fast is to limit oneself to one meal and two partial meals which, taken together, equal one meal. Eating between meals is not permitted by those fasting. The sick and the elderly are not held to any Lenten penances.

Hội Đồng Mục Vụ sẽ có phiên họp hằng tháng vào Chúa Nhật, ngày 12 tháng 3 năm 2017 lúc 7:30 AM tại Art Room. Kính mời Ban Chấp Hành, Hội Trưởng và ban trị sự các Hội Đoàn/Ban Ngành cùng tham dự đông đủ.

Xưng Tội Mùa Chay – Xin Phụ Huynh giúp cho các con em dọn mình sốt sắng trước khi đi xưng tội và cùng đưa con đi tham dự các giờ giải tội trong Mùa Chay tại Giáo Xứ chúng ta hoặc xưng tội trong các tối Thứ 4 từ 7pm-8pm và các Thứ 7 từ 8:30 AM -9:30 AM. Xin chân thành cám ơn quý phụ huynh và xin Chúa chúc lành!

Lớp Rước Lễ Lần Đầu 2: Các em Lớp Rước Lễ Lần Đầu 2 sẽ có ngày Tĩnh Tâm để dọn lòng lãnh nhận Bí tích Hòa Giải Lần Đầu tiên trong ngày 25 tháng 3 năm 2017 từ 10 AM đến 7:30 PM. Kính xin phụ huynh đưa con em đến Hội Trường đúng giờ và xin phụ giúp dạy kinh cho con và dọn tâm hồn cho con em biết xưng tội. Nhất là xin cầu nguyện cho tất cả các em được tràn đầy hồng ân Chúa trong ngày vui trọng đại này.

Sinh Hoạt Hàng Tuần

Mỗi thứ Tư hằng tuần, giáo xứ chúng ta có giải tội từ 7:00 giờ tối đến 8:00 giờ tối, và cũng có giờ chầu Thánh Thể từ 7:00 giờ tối đến 9:00 giờ tối. C/Đ Cecilia sẽ phụ trách xướng kinh trong giờ chầu tuần này từ 8:00 giờ đến 8:30 tối. Xin mời quí vị tham dự đông đủ.

Mỗi thứ Năm hàng tuần, từ 6:00 giờ tối đến 7:00 giờ tối tại Nhà Nguyện Thánh Thể, cộng đoàn Việt Nam có giờ Đền Tạ Mẹ Fatima. Xin mời quí vị tham dự đông đủ, và xin cám ơn.

Mỗi Thánh Lễ Việt hàng tuần, thứ Sáu, lúc 6:15 PM và thứ Bảy, 6:30 PM. Xin mời quí vị tham dự đông đủ.

Mỗi Chúa Nhật hàng tuần, từ 5:00 giờ tối đến 7:00 giờ tối tại St. Cecilia Kuper Center, Nhóm Canh Tân Đặc Sủng có buổi cầu nguyện và chia sẻ Kinh Thánh. Xin mời quí vị tham dự đông đủ, và xin cám ơn.
