BHEL WINS SIX NATIONAL SAFETY AWARDS

Among a host of public and private sector companies in the country, six 'National Safety Award' have been won by

BHEL, for outstanding achievements in terms of the longest accident free period and lowest accident frequency

rate at their works. The awards were received by Shri Atul Sobti, Chairman & Managing Director, from Shri

Santhosh Kumar Gangwar, Hon'ble Union Minister of State for Labour & Employment (Independent Charge), at a

function in New Delhi. All the six awards have been won by the company's Trichy unit.

BHEL WINS ICAI NATIONAL AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN COST MANAGEMENT

BHEL has been conferred the ‘ICAI National Award for Excellence in Cost Management 2017'. The award was

presented by Shri Piyush Goyal, Hon'ble Union Minister of Railways and Coal, to Shri Atul Sobti, Chairman &

Managing Director, BHEL and Shri Subodh Gupta, Director (Finance), BHEL, at a function in New Delhi.

BHEL SIGNS TECHNOLOGY COLLABORATION AGREEMENT WITH BABCOCK POWER ENVIRONMENTAL INC., USA

For offering state-of-the-art competitive air pollution control products, (BHEL) has entered into a Technology Collaboration Agreement (TCA) with Babcock Power Environmental Inc., USA (BPE) for Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) Systems for De-NOx application.

In the presence of Mr. Atul Sobti, CMD, BHEL, and Mr. Nathan Hevrony, Chairman, Babcock Power Inc., USA, the TCA was signed by Mr. Subrata Biswas, Director (E, R&D), BHEL and Dr. Clayton A. Erickson, Sr. Vice President (Environment Technology & Products), BPE, USA. Other senior officials from BHEL and Babcock power Inc. were also present on this occasion.

Amidst stiff competitive bidding, BHEL has bagged four orders for emission control equipment from NTPC Ltd. Valued at about Rs.2,900 Cr., these order involve supply and installation of Flue Gas Desulphurization (FGD) systems for control of Sox emissions at NTPC’s 3 X 660 MW North Karanpura, 2 x 500 MW Mauda Stage - I, 3 X 660 MW Barh Stage - I and 2 X 660 MW Barh Stage-II power projects.

Minister, Kerala by Shri Atul Sobti, CMD BHEL. In addition to lighting the homes of people, BHEL is also helping in

lighting the lives of people in distress. BHEL and its employees have always risen to the occasion and contributed

towards rendering relief to victims of natural calamities like the tsunami-affected states; floods in Karnataka,

Assam, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh and Uttarakhand; earthquakes in Gujarat; the super cyclone in Orissa and the

drought in Gujarat and Rajasthan, in addition to the Kargil war.

AUTHENTICATION FORCRITICAL SAP TRANSACTIONS

GOLDEN JUBILEE OF BHEL TOY TRAIN IN ZOO

Engineering R&D Coordination Web Portal was

developed in order to streamline the activities

performed by Engineering R&D Coordination and

various product groups. The system helps to compile

actual R&D expenditure against Budget estimates,

actual Turnover from in-house Development activities

against set targets and report monthly Status.

This System was inaugurated on 26th Sept., 2018 by

Executive Director / HPEP Shri G Uday Kumar in the

presence of Shri C N V Ramana, General Manager /

Defence & Aerospace, R&D Engg. Coordn, Head of

DTG in the board room. The system was

demonstrated to the representatives from various

product groups. The system helps in standardizing

data entry, easy, monitoring, historical analysis and

compilation of reports with customized dashboards.

In line with advice of the Corporate Vigilance, Digital Transformation Group has developed a module for dual factor authentication for SAP transactions.

This system was inaugurated on by Executive Director / HPEP Shri G Uday Kumar in the presence of GM / GT & IC, Shri S Srinivasa Rao and Senior officials in the board room. The system was demonstrated for Finance SAP transaction during the inauguration.

BHEL had donated a Toy Train to “ NEHRU ZOOLOGICAL

PARK” in 1968 and it has been in continuous ever since. This fete was made possible owing to the dedicated staff manning the Toy Train and the periodic maintenance support from M&S department. it is noteworthy to mention that the Train is a crowd puller in the Zoo Park. As art of major overhaul, BHEL had replaced the Wheels, Bearings and Engine in 2014 to give a new lease of life to the aging Toy Train.

On the occasion of Zoo Day and the Wild Life Week, the Zoo authorities extended an Invitation to BHEL to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of BHEL Toy Train on 06.10.2018. On this momentous occasion, our Executive Director, Shri G Uday Kumar flagged off the Toy Train amid thunderous applause from the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Curator of the Zoo and the tiny tots who has gathered in large numbers to enjoy their ride. Indeed a moment of pride for BHEL Corporation for having continually operated a major tourist attraction for five long decades.
