16th Century-Gondwana
1781- Maratha Governor of Sagar acquired Jabalpur area.
1798-Peshwa Marathas granted to Bhosle Princess of Nagpur.
1818-British occupied Jabalpur. Under British Rule Jabalpur became capital of Sagar and Narmada territories which was the part of North Western Province.1861-New Central Province part formed.
1903- That Central Province became the Central Province of Berar.
Early 20th Century- Jabalpur was the HQ of a brigade in the 5th region of Southern Army.
