Recently, Magis start-ed experimenting with even more advanced technology, develop sophisticated manufacture method such as aluminum die-casting, pressed metal and “liquid wood” technology, such as the Zartan Raw chair, where Magis collaborated with famous French designer Philippe Starck, to create a chair with mold filling technology, by biodegradable material instead of petrochemical plastics, that min-imizes environmental harm, the Zartan Raw represents a major breakthrough in mass-produced furniture.!!MAGIS持續開發新科技，2000 年前期以塑料家具為核心，無論是射

Tom & Jerry “People might think MAGIS is all about plastic product, this is not true. We only add

in plastic when it adds value to the design. Take Tom &Jerry as an example, it would never be the same if we didn’t add PP into it, it adds life to the design.”!“人們可能會認為MAGIS是所有關於塑料製

品，這是不正確的。我們只會在”造出更好產

品設計”的前提下添加塑料，為的全是增加其

設計價值。就拿Tom&Jerry作為一個例子，

如果我們在設計時不加進PP去，它便永遠不

Spun We met Thomas Heatherwick at Haunch of Venison London back in 2010, where we first saw the Spun Chair. It was first made from brass, stainless steel and aluminium. It didn’t take long before we realize we can take this one of a kind design to mass production, with the help of rotational moulding, of cause. !By the way the production cycle of Spun is about 45 minutes.!我們初會Thomas Heatherwick是早在2010

TRAFFIC ARMCHAIR IS A COLLECTION OF FURNI-TURE USING WIRE AND UPHOLSTERY. THE STRUCTURE OF THE CHAIR IS FORMED BY A COMPLEX WEB OF STEEL THAT DRAW GRAPHS IN SPACE AND PERSPECTIVES THAT SUPPORT THE CUSHIONS WITH LIGHTWEIGHT STEEL WIRE. Proust The Proust Chair was a interesting col laborat ion between MAGIS and Alessandro Mendini, we took the original Proust to the lab for a 3D scan. !From there we created one mould for the MAGIS Proust. The product cycle of Proust chair is one hour. !Proust是MAGIS和意大利建築師暨設計師

(Product cycle)是一小時。!!Proust Chair (Multi-color) We wanted to make the already good Proust even better, so we spend extra time to experiment with all new multi-color version, different color polyethylene powder mixed together to a point that it doesn’t merge into one color, that’s the challenging point. !The reason why Proust Chair has higher SRP is because the product cycle, it took a extra 30 minutes to product one chair (total 1.5hours). !我們想讓就已經很不錯的Proust變得更好，

所以我們花額外的時間來試驗出一款新彩色版本，利用不同顏色的聚乙烯粉末混在一起，到一個關鍵點，令不同顏色不至合成一個顏色，那是具有挑戰性的問題。!

它的產品週期較長，比普通Proust需要額外

30分鐘（共1.5小時）。!

Piña Designer Jaime Hayon was born in Madrid (Capital of Spain), it only make sense to give Piña a spanish name. Piña means pineapple.!It uses steel rod moulding and took 24meters of steel wire to produce one Piña.!西班牙設計師Jaime Hayon 出生在馬德里

（西班牙首都），故此Pina有一個西班牙名

字。 Pina是西班牙文中菠蘿的意思。!

Pina採用鋼線材成型，生產一張Pina須利用

24米的鋼線。

Steelwood Chair The Steel wood starts from a 2mm thick piece stainless steel. Nine tools were developed to gradually bend, curve and

laser-cut the shape of the metal back in sequence , f r om initial steel plate to final form. All the m a n u f a c t u r e process is done by machine, and then assembly by hand. !從一塊2mm厚的不

銹鋼片開始，利用九組機器，來彎曲，塑形，以至激光切割生產，所有的組件製造過程由機械手完成，最後以人手裝嵌。!

Stefano Giovannoni A fantastic designer, one of the few that sync with the mind of the customer, it is very important for Stefano that the project performs well, for him, good design is also when the product is very well perceived by the clients, he always likes to listen and this is not common in the designer world. He always ask for comment from every one, when he created the Bombo.!Stefano是一位少數樂意從使用者／客戶觀

點出發的優秀設計師，他十分重視每一個合

作每一件設計項目。對他而言，好的設計不只是他個人的看法，而是設計廣受世界認同。他總是喜歡聆聽，而這一點在設計師世界中是十分罕見的。就像他設計Bombo的時
