Campus Energia is the strategic aggrega+on of several economic, social and research agents, promoted by the UPCBarcelonaTech, which purpose is to collaborate together by taking the opportunity the change of the energy model provides. Campus Energia is aimed at leading the transforma+on of the sector with clear local impact and wide interna+onal recogni+on. In this campus, knowledge and technology will generate innova+on for a more sustainable economy with more and beAer qualified jobs and it will become a reference in the field of governance and social responsibility.

The mission of the Campus Energia is to become an ac+ve agent in the transforma+on of the energy sector through coopera+ve involvement in research and innova+on, using the strengths of its members to establish a first-‐class global reputa+on.

MISSION


By 2015, Campus Energia aims to be:

ü  The leading strategic consor+um for energy in Southern Europe, with local impact and broad interna+onal recogni+on. ü A nucleus for knowledge, technology and value genera+on capable of mee+ng society’s needs and fostering the crea+on of a sustainable economy. ü A benchmark for quality learning within the framework of the EHEA and ERA, training skilled professionals for new employment areas in the energy sector. ü A generator of highly skilled employment and innova+ve technology-‐based companies, helping to transform the economic model. ü A model of social responsibility with respect to the change of energy model and its socioeconomic impact.

Campus Energia is based on establishing crea+ve links between the four helices to discover and develop new knowledge, technology, products and services, which are then transferred to users for their specific requirements.

Campus Energia will:

q  Focus the campus research in 4 areas: energy efficiency, nuclear fission and fusion, smart grids and renewable energy q  Build a new urban space of 30.000m2 devoted to energy research q  Set up 60 SMEs in the energy sector from R+D interna+onal projects q  Develop pioneering ini+a+ves to feed the Campus with wind power, biomass, fuel cells and solar energy q  Increase the number of PhD programs in energy q  Fund 40 PhD students each year in coordina+on with Energy KIC PhD School q  Expand educa+onal programs in energy and entrepreneurship integra+ng voca+onal training in higher educa+on
