ViolinShe cried for all the broken hearts,

Painted everlasetched ting winters –Floral patterns in ice;

A frozen tear to Soften up the bastard bones.

Bow made love to needy stringIn cooing fling – wanton whispers

Fondled under pianissimos, Caressing callous hearts.

Melodrama swayed in satin sound– Yet the player wasn’t there,

Only creamy song, soothing, yearning, Teasing bitter minds.

I sensed her persevering lonelinessFor beauty of an evening:

Romance of a tune; laughing, Sobbing at the fire.

Then a climax – Writhing passion cutting deep –

Wounding macho flesh,

And all in a work of musical art: Ephemeral stories, yarned of music

Honed impossibly through her tones.

On July 13, 2011, Senses Fail posted "We are hanging writing new songs and practicing for the shows this weekend." on their Facebook page, suggesting writing for a new album has begun. The band has also been posting various pictures via Twitter and Instagram of them in the studio.Senses Fail announced that they would be going on tour with Stick To Your Guns, Make Do and Mend, and The Story So Far in November.The band then released The Fire on vinyl through Mightier Than Sword Records.Senses Fail has been confirmed to be playing on the 2012 Vans Warped Tour. They will also be releasing a greatest hits album entitled Follow Your Bliss: The Best of Senses Fail which features music from all of their previous albums and comes with an added four-track EP of new songs. The album is scheduled to release on June 19, 2012 in a double-CD package and will be limited to 10,000 copies.

Hall of Fame Golf Classic, Reception Dinner Aims to Raise Funds for Dixon High

Athletics by Itzel Lopez• Excitement is building up as the Dixon High Athletic Association prepares

to announce this year’s inductees into the Dixon High School Hall of Fame. The inductees will be announced Friday night at a Homecoming Reception and Golf Tournament Awards dinner at El Macero Golf Club in Davis.

• The day’s events will begin with a golf tournament that serves as a fundraiser for Dixon High School’s Athletic Program said Juan Cornejo, one of the event’s organizers.

• “We are pretty close to being sold out on the golf tournament itself,” Cornejo said. “This is the 2nd Annual Golf Tournament. All the money that we raise is for the support of Dixon High athletics.”

• Although most of spots for the golf tournament are sold, there are still some foursomes for $800 still available. A foursome includes:

• Signed baseball from one of these MLB players: Will Clark, Dennis Eckersley, Ricky Henderson, Reggie Jackson, Tim Lincecum, Mike Piazza, Albert Pujols, Alex Rodriguez or Brian Wilson, (randomly selected)

Baseball Short Stories: Race To the Plate By Ryan Smith

The stadium was filled with people. The Braves were playing the Mets to decide who would dominate the National League East. In the clubhouse, the room was full of uncertainty.

“I’m so nervous!” exclaimed rookie Jeff Barber. “Don’t worry,” the first baseman, Lawrence Slade said. “You’ll do fine.” “I remember my first game,” recalled Garrett Flynn. “I came up with the bases loaded in the sixth. I got

a great pitch and crushed it. It went into the gap and I got a triple out of it.” “Okay guys,” the Braves skipper, Pat Moran said. The docile team turned toward Moran. “This is probably the most important game of your lives. All of you have the potential to be someone

great. Prove it tonight. Winning this game will bring us closer to achieving our ultimate goal—winning the World Series. So let’s get out there and win us a ball game!”

“Yeah!” shouted the team in response. With that, the players ran out onto the field.The first inning started with Jeff at second base. “Okay,” he said to himself. “You can do this. It’s just like at Reading only here the players are less

fickle.”

The first pitch was sharply hit to the third baseman, Merle Lovett. He fielded it cleanly, but then had a wild throw to first. The runner stayed where he was at first base. The next batter stepped up. “You cover on a steal!” Jeff shouted to Sung-Hoo Shim, the shortstop.On the next pitch, the runner was off. Jeff ran to backup Shim. Wait, Jeff thought. Shim doesn’t speak English! Jeff started to run towards second. He caught the throw coming in from the catcher and dove for the bag. He put the tag on the runner.

“Yer out!” shouted the ump.

“Yeah!” shouted Jeff. That was close, he thought. The next batter struck out and the batter after him grounded out to Shim. Jeff grabbed a bat because he was leading off.

“Well if it isn’t the rookie,” the catcher said as he stepped up. “Don’t miss, okay?”

“Don’t let him tamper with your mind!” shouted Slade from the on-deck circle. “Ignore him!” The first pitch was way outside. The second and third pitches were strikes and the two after that were balls. The count was full and Jeff swung at the last pitch. He missed strike three. “Forget it,” Slade said as he walked back to the dugout. “You’ll get it next time.” No one threatened to score until the fifth inning when the Mets had men at second and third with one out.

“Come on!” Jeff shouted at his second base position. “We can get out of this!” The first was hit sharply to him. He fielded it masterfully and gunned it towards home plate. The catcher caught it and put the tag on the runner. “Yer out!” shouted the ump. “Yeah!” Jeff shouted. “What a play!” The next batter grounded out and the inning was over. In the bottom of sixth, Jeff had his third at bat. In his second at bat, he got a double. He crushed the first pitch to deep center. The centerfielder got a great jump on it and made a great shoestring catch near the wall. It was the last out. “Aw!” Jeff whined. As the centerfielder jogged in, he said, “Nice catch.”“Thanks,” the centerfielder replied. Jeff decided to be tactful to everyone while I played because that was the way the game should be played. In the bottom of the ninth, the score was still tied, 0-0. He came up one last time with two outs and no one on. He was incredibly nervous. “Okay, I can do this,” Jeff said over and over. He stepped up to the plate. The first pitch was a ball and the next, a strike. The third was in the dirt and the fourth wasn’t much better. The count was 3-1 and the fifth pitch looked good so he swung. He crushed it into the gap and took off for first. As Jeff rounded first, he saw that the ball was still in the outfield. He put on the afterburners and slid head first into third. He was safe.

“Oh yeah!” Jeff shouted. One run and the Braves would win! He looked at the pitcher’s delivery and found the error that he was looking for. On the second pitch, he took off for home. The pitcher was so shocked that he threw the ball too high. Instead off sliding, Jeff barreled into the catcher. The ball rolled out of the backstop’s glove. “SAFE!” shouted the ump. The other Braves charged out to meet Jeff at the plate. He helped win a substantial victory for the team by stealing home! The Braves were going to the playoffs!

Afterwards, I was like, 'We gotta name the band that.'"

Tupac's Mom Approves Of Coachella Hologram Tribute by

Kevin BlairIconic rapper Tupac Shakur found new life over the weekend thanks to Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre and special effects company Digital Domain, which produced a hologram of the late star

for a "performance" with the two living rappers at this year's Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival.

The rap stars' set was the talk of the festival after Sunday night's finale, and Tupac's mother - who handles most of the slain star's affairs - has given her approval and applauded the

performance.

A rep for Afeni Shakur told TMZ.com that she "was absolutely positively thrilled with Tupac's virtual performance".

It was reported early last week that Snoop's late cousin, Nate Dogg - who died in 2011 after complications from a series of

strokes - would perform during the set as a hologram also, but a video tribute was staged instead.

The chant of the crowd reverberated along the cement walls surrounding him as made his way down the long narrow hall to the entrance of light before him. The collective repeat of his name fueled him with excitement and determination. His heart was beating hard and steady by the time he reached the entrance to the stadium. His skin shone with the sheer desire to be there. To be able to conquer what was before him, the desire to be victorious.Closing his eyes, he knew it was now time. With the lowering of his head, his body poised before the entrance, he could feel the excitement of the crowd, the desire to watch his art at work. His blood, sweat and tears the vehicle towards victory.With a final prayer and a gentle push of his trainer, he enters the stadium to the explosion of anticipation from the crowd. Over the loudspeaker he hears the roll of his name and he smiles, raising his arms in the air to show that he, and not the one in the ring will be the one the ref holds an arm skyward in victory. His smile soon fades, for now his excitement is determination. He is here to fight.

Beastie Boys Hello, Nasty Lawsuit ...

Filed Day Before MCA Died by TMZ staff• In what may be the worst-timed lawsuit EVER ... a record

label has accused the Beastie Boys of stealing its artist's music on 2 of their biggest albums ... and it filed the suit just hours before MCA passed away. The case is actually pretty interesting ... TufAmerica claims MCA, Mike D and Ad-Rock ripped off the '80s band Trouble Funk ... and illegally sampled their music on multiple songs featured on the albums "Licensed to Ill" and "Paul's Boutique."In the lawsuit, filed in federal court in NY on May 3, TufAmerica claims the Beastie's sampled a famous drum beat from the Trouble Funk hit "Drop the Bomb" on the 1986 hit "The New Style."

• TufAmerica also claims the Beatie's stole riffs from the song on

"Car Thief" and "Hold It Now Hit It" ... and also ripped off the Trouble Funk track "Say What" on the song "Shadrack."

So why sue now? TufAmerica claims the Beasties have been re-releasing and distributing the tracks ... and are not paying for the rights to sample Trouble Funk.

In fact, TufAmerica claims it has "never received royalties or payment" for any of the songs ... ever.

So far, no comment from the Beastie Boys ... probably because they have more important matters to tend to at the moment.

Playing Better Golf When Slow Players Clog Up the Course By: Benjamin Ehinger

• It’s no secret that some golfers move very slow and don't understand that faster players should get to play through. However, this does not mean you need to give up strokes because you get stuck behind golfers without a clue. If you play regularly and you often get stuck behind slow players, then this advice will help you play better golf.Golfers react in many different ways when dealing with slower groups in front of them. Some hit golf balls into them, while others throw a tantrum or start taking lots of practice swings. None of these reactions will help you to play better golf. You need a better way to deal with slow players on the golf course.You can't do much about a group of four slower players not letting you play through, even if you happen to be playing by yourself. If you start doubling or tripling your practice swings, you will just waste energy. If you throw a tantrum, your entire game will fall apart. If you hit into them, you might end up getting sued for hospital bills because you actually do hit someone in front of you.None of these outcomes lead you to playing better golf. Slow players may annoy you more than anything else on the course may, but they can also affect your game because you let them. If you want to play better golf when stuck behind slow golfers, you need to understand five keys to dealing with slower players.

• 1. Breath

Before you hit a ball into them, throw a tantrum, or burn all your energy taking practice swing, breath. Turn your back to the slow golfers, take a short walk towards the tee you just hit off, and take a few deep breaths. This will help you to keep your cool and you won't let the frustration take over your golf game.

2. Enjoy Your Surroundings

Remind yourself that you could be stuck in an office working, but you're on the golf course. You're surrounded by beauty and nature, which provides you with a better day than those stuck at work or doing something else. Remember, you love the game of golf. Big deal if this hole or the next few holes takes you a little longer than you thought.

3. Expect Slow Play

If you go to the golf course expecting to fly around the course and finish your round in less than 4 hours, then you've already set yourself up for failure. Instead, expect to get stuck behind someone slow, prepare yourself for it, and understand that you won't finish in less than 4 hours on most days. Golf courses don't open to allow you to play fast. They open to make a profit and they want to be packed. You should expect your round to take longer than usual and if you're prepared for it, your play won't suffer.

• 4. Take your Mind off Golf

Golf is one of the only games that allows you to think about other things in between the shots you hit and still achieve success. If you get stuck behind slow players, getting your mind away from golf will help. You don't need to spend the entire time you wait thinking about the next shot. Spark up a conversation with another player, tell jokes, and do anything you can to keep your mind off golf until it's time to play again.

5. Have a Snack

We all take snacks on the course with us and there's no better time to have a little snack than when you get stuck behind slower players. Sometimes you scarf down your snacks because you don't want the golfers behind you to wait on you. Consider it an opportunity and have your snack without backing things up.

By keeping your cool more often, you won't start gripping the club too tight and hitting the ball all over the place. This will help you to play better golf even if you get stuck behind a group of slower players for a few holes.
