Clash Magazine:

Clash magazine is a popular magazine highly influenced by fashion and music in the UK. Music Republic Ltd publishes it 10 times a year, after Clash Music Ltd went into liquidation.

The brand's content alternates between modern bands, as well as hip-hop artists. It concentrates on music and fashion, as well as film and technology.

Founders:

Iain Carnegie - Art Director Jon-Paul Kitching - Advertising Director Simon Harper - Editor John O'Rourke Publisher

This magazine has a design in which I would tailor towards, I feel that the layout and structure is really consistent, and simple yet draws the readers in through the sophisticated edge.

V magazine:

V magazine was launched in September 1999 as the "younger sibling" publication to the limited edition Visionaire. V is vibrant, less formal, more accessible, ready-to-wear alternative. With limited numbers of magazines issued a year, V releases its issues based around the current seasons collection; Spring Preview, Fall Preview, Winter Preview and Summer Preview. The magazine has a readership of 315,000 as of 2010.

This magazine is much more informal than other magazines that I have analysed, however still has the sophisticated style, which is presented through the magazine cover. They are very different when it comes to conventional magazines, their title especially challenges typical conventions on magazines, however means that they are well known for their differences.

FADER magazine:

The FADER is a New York-based music magazine launched in 1999 by Rob Stone and Jon Cohen. The FADER documents a range of emerging music, style and culture. The FADER was the first print publication to be released on iTunes. It has been credited with giving exposure to top artists ahead of mainstream recognition.

FADER magazine is another magazine, which challenged typical conventions through their title as they use a highlighted F for their masthead. Their structure is often simplistic much like Clash and V, but still has their own twist on to make the magazine their own.

In conclusion from the magazine creators I have analysed, I have found that I edge towards a more simplistic style, so that my magazine is structured and looks professional, I have decided to take inspiration from these magazines mainly because they are my favourite ones in which I have studied.
