Danish Underground Consortium &Maersk Oil

• APMM was granted the license in 1962 for 50 years

• The license has been renegotiated a number of times and

in 2003 it was extended to 2042

• Danish underground Consortium was formed as a

partnership

• Today DUC consist of Shell, Texaco, Nordsøfonden og

APMM

• Maersk Oil is the operator for DUC.


Where are Danish Business Unit• Production started on Dan field in 1972. Oil export by

tanker

• Gorm Field started production in 1981. Oil export by

tanker

• Tyra Field in 1984 – Gas export to Denmark

• Dan F and Gorm E in 1987 – Oil export via pipeline to

Fredericia

• Skjold and Rolf introduced in 1986 as normally

unmanned satellites

• STAR concept installed on Dagmar and Kraka as

minimum concepts

• Svend, Harald and Roar installed as marginal fields

• Halfdan Development was started as a satellite to Gorm

• Safety is of vital importance for Maersk and contractors

• Our goal is to be incident free

• Dansk industry ~ 21 incidents per 1 mill. Working hours


Protection of the Environment

• Decommissioning will increase the potential for spills

• All spills has to be reported to the Danish authorities

• Clean environment is a requirement during the entire

decommissioning process

• Account for all materials

• Maximum recycle

• NORM material handling

• Return the area to original conditions

• New tendency - To evaluate short term damage and

long term

• DUC operates an extensive infrastructure in the North Sea including:

• Gorm

• Twelve satellite platforms

• Interfield pipelines

• Multiphase

• Wet gas

• Live oil

• Water Inject

• Export pipelines

• Crude oil pipeline to onshore Denmark

• Gas pipeline to onshore Denmark

• Gas pipeline to the Dutch Sector

• Processing capacities

• Significant spare processing capacities are presently available on the

processing centers for the tight oil project (and for other possible

developments), but these capacities will gradually disappear with time

in order to reduce costs, if not utilized

environment and leave in place.


Restrictions offshore

• Available beds restricts the number of working hours

which can be executed each year

• Presently is 2 mobile accommodation rigs engaged to

compensate

• Detailed Planning is required to structure the work and

ensure availability of materials and workers.

• Experienced workforce is required to ensure workflow

and safety level
