Reducing all proportions of the crown so that a smaller natural shape is attained.

Removing selected branches evenly through-out the crown so as to allow more light and air to penetrate without reducing the overall dimensions of the crown.

Removing selected lower branches thatmay be a nuisance or to improve light under the crown.

Removing broken, hanging and torn branches, stumped branches and debris.

In some circumstances dead wood can fall out or can be knocked out of the crown. A brief individual assessment of ‘Target area’ and frequency of occupancy needs to be carried out to advise the tree owner if any dead wooding needs to be carried out. Recent studies have shown how beneficial deadwood is to the environment.

For the tree owner who is worried about the structural integrity of an individual tree and needs expert advice on the probable cause of the problem, diagnosisand remedial action.

Sometimes your insurance company will require a report of this type to satisfy their re-quirements from a public safety pespective.

A tree inventory in effect for businesses, municipal, public or private tree owners who are responsible for the care and maintenance of a number of trees.

An inspection of each tree is carried out noting it’s species, approx. height, trunk diameter, age and condition.

For the property, or prospective property owner who needs a tree report requested by their insurance company in order to fulfill a ‘Home buyers survey‘ requirements.

Hedgehog children’s book.

I created this children’s book for my Final Major Project. I wanted the book to tell a story of the hedgehog’s journey and the things it encounters.

I included facts on how to encourage and allow hedgehogs to live in your garden. I was prompted to create this book after researching about the hedgehogs decline in England.

I used my lino cuttings as the character and the photographed them in different scenarios. I also wrote the content of the book.
