Stamp Project: Tea SetThis is a four series stamp collection with a included poster. I was tasked with created a series of four stamps with a general theme. I choose tea and tea cups. I edited images of tea cups to make them all have a similar look and feel. Then using the template I was given created a series of stamps. After creating the stamps I created a promotional poster to go along with the series. I went with a similar illustration and stuck with the same background.

Infographic:Tea

This infographic was created using Photoshop and Illustrator. Here I used a similar design theme as the stamp project. I wanted to keep a similar theme. I designed this infographic with a very similar background and lettering as the stamp project.

The infographic contains information about how to brew different teas and what kind of health benefits those teas give.

Wayfinding:Part 1

This is the wayfinding project. I was tasked with redesigning the wayfinding system used here on the MCC Penn Valley campus. I first went around and took pictures of areas i felt needed more direction.

Part 1: Testing Center

This is the hallway leading to the testing center in the MCC Penn Valley Campus Center building. I used an already existing feature to create a better wayfinding system. The red chevron was already in place and I added the font. I found a font I felt matched the design of the area and placed into the picture. This way students knew exactly where they were going.

After taking a photo of the Student Center I noticed a blank wall. There was very little signage around the center and I felt more information was needed. I went with multiple fonts to give the area a more playful feeling. I stayed using the same blue color the center already used.

Part 3: Campus Center Stairs

I felt the Campus Center stairs was a perfect place to add some wayfinding signage. I decided to add information going up the stairs with arrows pointing students in the correct direction. I overlayed the font and made in appear that it matched.

Package:Cutie Pie

This is the package design project. Here we created a company and made a project to go along with it. I was tasked with creating a logo, a product and packages that the product would be sold in.

I created multiple logos and packages for the company Cutie Pie. I also included a photo that I believe whole pies would be sold in.

Artist Poster:Ji Lee

We were to choose a designed and pretend they were coming to Penn Valley to give a lecture. I choose Ji Lee. After researching I decided I wanted to focus on his Word as Image series. I created this poster and tried to keep in mind his work.

Wood Block:Prints

I was tasked with choosing a quote I liked and creating a wood block to make prints with. After choosing my quote I designed a simple poster that would be laser cut into wood. I had to make sure my fonts were not too small and not placed too close to the edge.

After having our blocks made we printed using wood block ink and made the actual prints. I choose the best ones to display.

Filters:Tea CupFor the filter manipulation project I had to take an image and create a “Andy Warhol” like image. I chose a tea cup to go along with my theme. After placing all the images where I liked I used Photoshop effects, tools and filters to created a completed image.

Surrealism:Tree and BoatI was tasked with using multiple images to create a surrealist image. I used three images I took my self and created a grayscape surrealist project. The final result was printed on water color paper.

Collage:Rock N’ RollIn this project I was to create a poster/collage with all of the tools we learned about in Photoshop. I picked my images ad edited them into a collage about rock n’ roll. We had to included text and objects. Images we scanned in ourself.
