Well-rounded.

A diverse selection of programming, faculty that bring international, real-world experience to the classroom. And a commitment to providing students with an experience that effectively combines the theoretical with the practical.

MacEwan University School of Business is, in short, well-rounded. Our faculty and staff are dedicated to helping our students get where they want to go: whether they are looking for the skills they need to start a successful career, or are moving on to pursue further educational goals.

The School is proud of our close ties to the business community. Initiatives like our program advisory committees — groups of individuals working in industry who provide our programs with advice and guidance on their programming — keep us proactive, and on the leading edge of business education.

The MacEwan School of Business Advisory Council is the next step in our evolution as a school. The Council is an umbrella advisory group, providing the School with advice on strategic planning and ways to position the entire School of Business as a leader in providing students with a comprehensive range of educational options in the fields of business and management.

Council MembershipBusiness Advisory Council members are business leaders who are chosen for their experience, expertise and their strong commitment to post-secondary business education. Members are selected from Canadian private and public sector organizations and are appointed to the Council for a three-year term by the Dean of Business.

C. To serve as a sounding board for the Dean and Associate Deans, as a group and individually on present and proposed programs and activities of the School of Business in areas such as executive education, professional development, internationalization and research.

D. To suggest and identify opportunities for business students to enrich their education through internships and other practical learning work experiences.

E. To offer the Dean and the School of Business an external perspective on issues that affect business, and to identify areas of research and study where the expertise of faculty can be combined with the resources of the community to address the challenges of an ever changing business world.

F. To provide assistance and advice on strategy for the School of Business, specific aspects of the execution of a strategy, and any operational issues, where the Dean requests an external perspective.
