Terminations | FITA

One of the most vulnerable components of any underwater system is the connection

between a cable and an instrument.

The MacArtney Group has more than 30 years experience in cables and connectors,

together with high quality and sophisticated termination designs. The terminations

include basic electrical, advanced fibre optics and high load stress termination designs.

The MacArtney Group and Subconn Inc. have for 30 years had a unique development,

production and marketing agreement. The MacArtney Group market the Subconn®

wet mateable electrical connectors worldwide.

Launch & Recovery

Winches | Rotary

A correctly designed cable and cable handling system can substantially extend the working life of

most underwater systems - ROV’s, towed systems, seabed corers, ploughs, diving systems etc.

The MacArtney Group supplies several standard and custom built launch and recovery systems

(LARS). The winch systems can be equipped with the MacArtney developed state of art Active

Heave Compensated performance allowing operation under severe sea conditions.

LARS can be supplied as integrated handling systems comprising winch, cabling, slip rings,

junction boxes, A-Frame and full testing and certification.

Rotary products are supplied by Focal Technologies (MOOG Component Group).

The range comprises electrical slip rings, fiber optic rotary joints and hydraulic utility swivels.

The requirement for reliable transmission of large amounts of data and video from

ROV and ROTV’s increases with the development of more demanding sensor suites.

The MacArtney Group has developed the Nexus Plug & Play range of telemetry systems

which are operating as fully transparent fiber optic interfaces between subsea data and

video collection units and topside control and data presentation.

Custom electronic solutions can be developed for control system for imaging, data acquisi tion

and control functions. The Focus and Nexus systems reflect good examples of this.

Focal Multiplexers were developed to provide reliable fiber optic transmission of video and

data signals in the demanding subsea applications of ROV’s, robust defense systems

and other platforms operating in harsh underwater environments.
