VISION

The ‘Cab Management System’ offers the luxury to the user of a cab company to

work at ease and comfort by keeping all the work related material in the computer

instead of his mind. The CMS is software that insures no human error, permanent

storage and organized extraction and manipulation of information.

INITIAL REQUIREMENTS

A way to get rid of storing data on papers and multiple Microsoft Excel and

Microsoft Access files.

Minimize the human error as much as possible.Digitize everything.

Leave no room for human manipulation that has negative result.

Keep records of drivers and employees.

Allot cars without any effort by the user.

PROJECT SCOPE

The main feature of CMS is to allot cars to customers and store information of the

cars owned by the company. CMS will have a user friendly interface to check if acar is available or if not what time has it been rented for and what time shall it be

back, based on this it will give the list of available cars. The information to be

stored will include data from their government registration numbers, chassis

numbers to the date of previous and due date for servicing, tuning, tax paying, oil

changing. CMS will also include a separate feature to store records of the drivers

that are in charge of the cabs. A special feature for the manager will be to manage

the salaries of all the employees that work for the company.

CANDIDATE ARCHITECTURE

The project will be coded in Java, C++, QT and will include ORACLE database.

Rough estimate of cost:The rough estimate of cost is around 150,000 PKR. It includes the charges of

buying license of database.

Vision and Business Case

It’s for the benefit of the customers and the employees that the employee don’t

have to record the data in paper and they have to make new record when update is

required so this management system helps them in every way by storing the data,

informing the customers of available cars and specific money according to the

location. In business case it is very helpful as when the customer wants the cab

then the system can automatically send the message to the driver of customer

location details along with its time.

Order Cab: Customer will place order on the system

Dispatch Cab: System will dispatch the cab and notifies the customer through SMS notification.

Payment: At destination point payment will be made.

Check Availability: System will check whether car or driver is available.

Pick and Drop: System will tell the approximate amount according to its

location and will inform the driver of customer location.

Help: Any query made by customer will be answered by system.

Shutdown: Administrator can shut down the system.

Start Up: Administrator can start up the system.

Damage/Repair: Administrator checks damage control.

Monthly report: Report regarding bill will be generated at the end of

month.

Functional Requirements:

1. The manager shall maintain records of the employees and car.

2. The manager shall maintain records the payment and the salary to be paid tothe employee.

3. The System should allow manager to search for the available cab.

4. Amount should be paid in a limited time.

5. The manager can send one way message to the driver.

6. The system should generate receipt.

1. Data will be stored either using filing or database.

2. Coding will be implement in java, c++, QT
