READING: WALK TO READ Reading instruction in first grade is a shared
responsibility/partnership between all the first grade teachers, the resource room teachers, children and parents.
Students are assessed as needed and regrouped as necessary throughout the year.
A typical week includes the following components:
* Netbooks: RAZ Kids
* Independent Reading
* Guided Reading and Literacy Centers
* Whole group Reading Lessons
* Read at Home books………read and return each night
WRITERS WORKSHOP
*Narrative/Information/Opinion* Writing meetings: Lessons and
