introductionSince its incorporation in 2014, Apollo Air Services has rapidly grown in size and capability. We currently manage and operate the largest and youngest fleet of AgustaWestland 109 GrandNew helicopters in the UK. We hold a single pilot and multi crew IFR EASA AOC (GB 2420) to operate the AW 109 and the AS 350 throughout the UK, Ireland and Europe.

Presently we have three main operating bases in the UK. Carlisle Lake District Airport, in the North West which is where our head office is located, Leeds East Airport in the heart of Yorkshire and Cardiff City Heliport in the South West where we are the only operator of VVIP helicopters in Wales.

At Apollo Air Services safety is our primary concern and the main reason why we only operate

twin engine, all weather (IFR) helicopters. All our pilots are instrument rated enabling flight in bad

weather and at night but most importantly because the exacting standards required to obtain, and

to maintain the rating, means only the highest quality of pilots fly our aircraft.

Apollo Air Services is one of the first companies in the UK corporate charter market to

fully integrate simulators into our training philosophy and all our pilots carry out annual

recurrency training at the Leonardo AW 109 SP simulator in Zurich.

MCC - Multi Crew Corporation

Apollo Air Services is the first operator of AW 109’s in the UK to

gain approval to operate the aircraft in the Multi Crew role. This

further enhances the commitment that Apollo Air Services has to

safety and allows us to offer the aircraft with two properly trained

and qualified pilots as the crew. In addition to enhancing safety the

multi crew approval enables Apollo Air Services to recruit, train and

mentor young pilots to ensure the future of our industry.

EFB - Electronic Flight Bag

Further to the MCC approval Apollo Air Services has also recently

invested in gaining an Electronic Flight Bag approval for our AOC,

further demonstrating our commitment to safety by embracing the

technology that is available and using it in a proper and approved

manner.

Carlisle Lake District Airport is conveniently located just six miles east of Carlisle and is the gateway to the Lake District National Park, the Pennines, Scotland and Border regions. We are one hours’ flying time from Dublin and Belfast. With three of our AW109’s based here, we are the only operator with VIP aircraft in the North of England and are ideally located to provide a convenient travel experience.

We can operate out of remote sites both in the daytime and at night. We

have the ground support facilities to safely select and manage remote

landing sites. We can also provide refuel facilities from our 2000 litre jet

A1 fuel bowser. Our fully experienced pilots will get you there efficiently

whether you are going shooting or visiting your favourite hotel.

One of the most critical elements in business today is time. When you

or your business’s time is key to growth and success then helicopters

Capt. Stephen Graham (left)Director / Accountable ManagerChief Pilot / Training CaptainWhen it comes to safety in aviation, experience is one of the most important factors. With more than 13,000 hours of accident free flight time Steve is one of the UK’s most experienced pilots having operated not only in the VIP environment but also as an air ambulance pilot and in the demanding utility market.

Steve is also a Type-Rating Examiner and has been since 1995. He ensures only the highest standards of training are met by all crew members who fly for Apollo Air Services. Steve has been instrumental in introducing the use of simulators for pilot training within Apollo and he continually strives to improve safety awareness so that it is part of the company ethos.

Steve Pinchbeck (right)Operations Manager / SMS Manager Line Training Captain and TRIWith more than 4000 hours of flying time Steve has a vast amount of experience across multiple areas from VIP transport and utility work to aerial filming. Steve has also worked within a variety of roles including operations, flight safety and aircraft management providing an excellent knowledge of all aspects of the business.

Steve is the SMS Manager, who ensures that we have a systematic and proactive approach for managing safety risks. With an effective safety management system woven into the fabric of Apollo, it is part of our culture and the way we operate.

As Line Training Captain, Steve ensures that all our crew members are fully competent operating IFR in unfavourable weather conditions.
