On Wednesday, April 20, friendsand community members gathered atWinter Quarters Pasco RV Resort tosurprise Gloria Dale with a ceremonyhonoring her commitment to servingmilitary personnel. Gloria, a long-timeresident of Winter Quarters Pasco RVPark, has written letters to overseestroops for more than a decade. In fact,she estimates she has written around

15,000 Christmas and thank-youcards to military members. As Gloriaentered the community’s clubhouseshe believed she would be honoring alocal veteran. To her surprise, she waspresented with a plaque containing anAmerican flag that was flown overBagram, Afghanistan in her honor.Gloria was shocked and grateful forthe recognition.

Martín Gramática, former NFLKicker for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers,and Morgan and Morgan AttorneyAdam Brum were among the localcelebrities serving time for a greatcause at the 5th Annual Wheelchairs4 Kids Jail and Bail fundraiser heldApril 29th at Charley’s Steak Housein Tampa. Some of Tampa Bay’sprominent citizens, charged withhumorous offenses, were handcuffedand taken to “jail” where bail was setby Jail and Bail Judges Julie and SteveWeintraub, the owners of Gold &Diamond Source in Clearwater. TheWeintraub’s approached each casewith a great sense of humor and keptthe event lively and entertaining.

“Court-ordered” to pay for theircrimes, faux felons contacted friendsand family to raise bail. Participantsdid their jobs well, raising $53,000to benefit Wheelchairs 4 Kids, a local501(C) 3 non-profit organizationdedicated to providing equipmentfor children with mobility challenges.

Wheelchairs 4 Kids’ ExecutiveDirector Madeline Robinson wastouched that the fundraiser had record

success, stating, “I can’t believe webroke another record! I did not antic-ipate over $50,000. It just shows howhard our ‘felons’ worked and howcommitted they are to helping ourkids. We are so lucky to have such asupportive community.”

In addition to providing walkers,wheelchairs and other mobility itemsto children in need, Wheelchairs 4Kids also plans special field trips forthem. Some favorite past trips haveincluded visiting Winter the dolphin atClearwater Marine Aquarium, goingto WWE events, and experiencing theexcitement of the races at the St PeteGrand Prix.

Several kids that Wheelchairs 4Kids has helped were able to attendthis year’s Jail and Bail event, includ-ing six-year-old Aiden, who was pro-vided with a specialized bicycle thatcan help in his physical therapy.

WWE wrestler Titus O’Neil madea special appearance by celebrating hisbirthday with the kids during the Jailand Bail at Charley’s. Titus held Aidenup to help him blow out the candleson the cake while everyone sang

Award-Winning Food: SinceOctober, Chef Ben has been workingdiligently to update and renovate thebreakfast, lunch, and dinner menusand the way meals are prepared. Todevelop the menus he worked withculinary mastermind Chef MichaelToscano (formerly of Thomas Keller’sBouchon Bakery in New York, SousChef to Mario Batali at Babbo and
