The Lifetime Learning Association is a group of residents dedicated to the concept of learning
with and from peers. The Association Council creates a diversified selection of study groups,
workshops and lectures that are designed to maximize participation by members.
Join us All residents of Peconic Landing are eligible for membership in the
association. Non-residents who are sponsored by a resident are eligible. An annual
membership fee, as established by the council, is collected at the beginning of the Fall Term
and entitles a member to enroll in any or all study groups and workshops held during any of
the three terms, Fall, Winter, or Spring. A Lifetime Learning Catalog of courses is published prior
to each term. See the latest Lifetime Learning catalog for course descriptions, dates and
locations of classes.

and serves as a conduit to Dining Services. It provides a flow of information among the
Residents, Staff, Co-Op Board and Management of Peconic Landing. To that end, the
Committee critique the menus and presentation of the meals as the overall quality of the
dining experience for all residents.
Committee members meet once a month in the Board Room
to cover menus and suggestions for Dining Services. We suggest ideas for dining themes
and bring up suggestions from residents and also questions that may arise.

the predecessor publication, The Crier. The newsletter reports on news and events pertinent to
residents. With expansion on the horizon, residents want to know what is going on and how
construction will affect daily activities. Beyond expansion, residents are interested in the life
and times of our community. The editorial board is committed to keeping the community up-to
-date and well informed.

Join us
In the fall of 2007, a group of obsessed Peconic Landing dramaphiles
got together and said, “we should put on a play.” Now called The Old Fools Repertory, the
group draws on the considerable talent of the community to present plays selected from the
whole of dramatic literature. Their purpose is pleasure—their own, as well as the audience’s.
Productions have included “A Month of Sundays,” “Prisoner of Second Avenue,” and “The Im-
portance of Being Earnest.”
Chairs: Jack Speyer & Ed Barrett
MEN’S FORUM
The group meets as necessary to prepare for performances. Anyone
who is interested can respond to notices of auditions when posted, or contact one of the
group’s representatives.
Mission
Join us
The Men’s Forum was created to establish an informal setting for
dialogue and discussion among the men residing at Peconic Landing. Sessions provide the
opportunity to share with one another the questions and ideas that may be unique to men at
this stage of our lives. Discussions range from politics to finance, military, gun control,
legalization of drugs, medicine, healthcare, scientific developments, privacy, security, etc.
The group generally meets every other Monday at 1:30 pm in the
Lifetime Learning Classroom. New residents can introduce themselves by sharing some of their
background, family, experiences, interests, career, etc.
Mission Gather together your knitting, needlepoint, embroidery, quilting and
other creative sewing projects. Share the enjoyment of others with these talents. While many of
the group’s projects are for personal reasons, the Stitchers & Quilters also do ongoing work for
charities. As a group, they made the Brecknock Hall quilt and the Fifth Anniversary quilt.
A Double Wedding Ring king size quilt was donated to the Greenport Fire Department for their
raffle and a twin size quilt was raffled for the Employee Appreciation Fund.
Chair: Marguerite Tighe
