and maintains various types of medical equipment and products in the African market.

Equipment Repairs

LTE Medical Supplies has a well-equipped technical workshop, highly trained technical

personnel and certified test and calibration equipment. LTE Medical Supplies is capable of

repairing or assessing repairs on most medical equipment either in our workshop or on-

site at the customer.

Equipment repairs require that any damaged, malfunctioning or defective medical device

be repaired and returned to use, so as to comply with the manufacturer’s standards

requirements. All repairs done by LTE Medical Supplies follow the manufacturer’s

guidelines on spare parts- and repair and service procedures where applicable.

Equipment maintenance and service ensures that medical or electro medical devices

perform, deliver and functions or measures in accordance with the manufacturer’s and/or

international standards guidelines. Regular inspection, servicing and performance testing

of medical or electro-medical devices ensure that the device is compliant with the

regulatory standards and in correct working order to ensure that it does not pose any level

of hazard to the health care provider or the patient.

LTE Medical Supplies has extensive experience in servicing and maintenance of medical

and electro- medical equipment. We follow IEC60601, IEC62353 and manufacturer’s

guidelines, -standards and -procedures during testing, servicing and maintenance of

equipment and uses calibrated biomedical test equipment during testing. LTE Medical

Supplies can offer the following solutions (device, location and customer requirements

dependent):

Maintenance and Service:

- Periodic testing of devices, either on- or off-site. This is done in accordance with

risk level, manufacturer’s recommendation, age and in service usage of the device.

- Replacement of parts as required by service interval.

- Maintenance / Service intervals can be logged logistically by MedSci and we will

inform customers when the next service is due.

- Updated user training, software upgrades and troubleshooting assistance.

A typical service will consist of the following components:

1. Visual inspection of device (cables, casing, accessories…)

2. Electrical Safety Test (IEC62353 /60601-1 guideline)

3. Performance verification (as per manufacturer recommendation)

4. Assessment reports, test reports and updated user training.

Maintenance and service contracts can be offered depending on equipment volumes and

customer requirements.

All maintenance, service, safety and performance reports are electronically logged and

recorded for ease of data management and data transfer.

Equipment life-cycle assessments and management

LTE Medical Supplies offers equipment life cycle assessments and management. Medical

equipment life cycles are dependent on the risk level of the device, usage, repair- and

maintenance costs and manufacturer’s after sales support.

Higher risk level devices like X-ray, Defibrillators, Ventilators and Anaesthetic machines

have a shorter life expectancy, and clients are informed regarding repair and maintenance

costs on ageing devices versus new device costs.

Technological advances, manufacturer’s backup support and updated regulations may all

affect a device’s useful life cycle. To ease the burden of life cycle management and medical

equipment procurement, LTE Medical Supplies can offer assessments on most medical

devices and provide necessary reports.

Training and after-sales support

LTE Medical Supplies offers training on all the products we distribute, as well as some

products we do not directly represent (device specific).
