Hi there! My name is Lauren and I drink embarrassing amounts of coffee daily, spend too much time at Target, and have an aversion to laundry. I hope we can still be friends.

Working as a photographer has unexpectedly become my dream career. I left my job in the corporate world after having kids only to return to photography (my original career path was art as a freshman in college). I’ve been a professional wedding photographer since 2009 and there hasn’t been a day I’ve wanted to look back since. My favorite part about what I do, is squealing about dresses and details with my Brides; and proving to the Grooms that being in photographs is really fun. To me your experience is everything and I do all that I can to make the process easy and the photographs timeless. Lauren[

You’re engaged! Now the fun begins! Time to plan and prepare for what will be the biggest, most exciting day of your lives to date. It is beyond exciting and sometimes a little overwhelming. Choosing the right team to help you carry out your wedding day vision is no easy task. However, selecting the right photographer is probably the most important of all of them (ok, that sounds dramatic and yes, I am bias). Bridal resources and magazines suggest having your photographer nailed down 10-12 months before your date. “Good Photographers’ schedules fill up quickly, so reserve your shooter early” -Martha Stewart Weddings, Winter ‘14 issue

I hope that this guide will help you understand more of how my wedding services work and provide you with some helpful tips in selecting the right ingredients for your special day. We are here to help you every step of the way and believe you should customize something that is just right for you. You can always email or call anytime to ask questions you can find all of my contact information on the back of this guide.

engagements

For most couples, the engagement photo is their first professional photography shoot together. It also provides an opportunity to work together and get to knowone another prior to the big day!

Engagement photos are usually taken at a place that has special significance, like where you met, got engaged or a romantic setting.

Engagement photographs are traditionally published in the local newspapers of the couple’s hometown and the hometown of their parents if it is different.

The use of your engagement photo for your “Save The Date,” wedding website or “Thank You Card” is increasing in popularity, and some couples even send wallet-sized engagement photos to family and friends.

Here are some tips for the day of the shoot:

•Bring an alternative outfit with you•Wear dressy casual clothes that you feel comfortable with.•Bring along some props for a few fun or sentimental shots.•Get a professional manicure before the session•Be yourselves, relax and let your personalities shine!

the wedding day

Your experience is my number one priority. This day is your most personal and intimate day together so far. Its romantic, intense, emotional, maybe a tad stressful. Just a tad ;) and I am there with you every step of the way...literally, just you, the love of your life and me (hi guys!) So for me it is beyond important that we all love each other. Our connection is everything. I want you to be comfortable with me so that you can be confident in front of my camera.

[

Here are some tips and guidelines to help you get an idea of how the day will go so that you can choose just the right amount of time:

When photographing bridal shots I like to arrive 2-3 hours prior to the wedding. If you are in the same place as the groom I will also visit him for some pre-ceremony shots at this time.

g etting ready Anyone helping the bride get ready should be dressed and ready to go. Also, let your hair/makeup team know that you need to be ready first so that you can be ready to step

into your gown when the photographer arrives. Better to be done and relaxing

with a mimosa then to be rushing.

Be sure to account for the in between to each location. If you have a 20 minute ride from your getting ready spot figure in at least 30 minutes depending on bridal party size. Getting 7-10 girls in and out of a trolley can sometimes take a few minutes.

trav el time

Whether a quick ceremony or super long, I try to arrive at your ceremony site with plenty of time to get detail shots and set up before guests arrive. I’ll usually try to leave ahead of you so that I am there a half hour before your ceremony.

ceremony

Page 11: LS Wedding Guide

e We complete the list of important family members after the ceremony. This can take up to a half hour depending on the size of your families. I will have an organized list that you will provide me to help things run along smoothly.

family portraits

bride & groom portraits

This time is reserved for me to photograph your room untouched. I will photograph the cake, table settings, finished room and set up lighting for those fabulous party shots. My second photographer will then catch any important cocktail hour details and group shots.

cocktail hour

reception Usually after the cake cutting we can be finished. Unless you have

something special happening at the end of the night there isn’t a need to keep the

photographers after the cake cutting. If you aren’t having a cake cutting, two hours before the end is enough time to

get some great shots.

Time to party! I love great party shots, and will mostly cover the dance floor while my second photographer looks for group shots etc. If there are specific shots you need completed at thereception I will be sure to grab those as well.

You may decide to do a first look or not. I do not mind either choice. This is your day so I am there to complete the portraits how and when you want. If you do a First look we will complete all of your portraits before the ceremony at a location of choice and then complete all bridal portrait photos. Allow at least one hour depending on travel time. If you do not do portraits before the ceremony we will do our best to get you to cocktail hour but may need to snag a few minutes of it to be sure we have enough of your beautiful faces to have for the walls.

Page 12: LS Wedding Guide

llo

If your ceremony and reception are all in the same place and local to where you are getting ready, six hours is enough time to cover the ceremony, family and bridal portraits after, and a few hours of party time.

This is our most popular choice for couples. Eight hours is enough time for some getting ready shots of the bride & groom if logistics allow, first look portraits, ceremony and mostly all of your reception. That usually leaves me finishing up aboutan hour before the reception ends. When your reception immediately

follows the ceremony it leaves little time for portraits. Don’t be worried about

guests - they will find a place to grab a drink or check into their hotel. If you do not plan on having a first look, adding an extra hour after the ceremony will keep your portrait

time from being rushed and get you to the cocktail hour for most of the time.

This is ideal for couples that have a bit of time in between their venues or multiple locations to travel to ie. portraits at the park or beach. This is also a good option if you are allowing plenty of time in between the ceremony and cocktail hour.

FAQ'sWill i receive high resolution images from my wedding?Yes! I truly believe you should have your images archived for years to come. They are however, the proofs of the day meaning you can only print them up to a certain size with-out losing resolution (approx. 5x7). This works well for couples as they mainly want them for making cards or smaller prints. The larger stuff you can leave to us! My team knows all about color and making your images look their best on the wall. We don’t want you to have anything less than fabulous, and can’t trust other labs to deliver that. We help you create a package that can include some amazing images in print for gifts and walls.

Do you have a second photographer? My husband works in finance. Why does this matter? Well, I am not a husband and wife team and if I did have my husband help, your pictures would remind you of Excel spread sheets. Instead I hire one of my amazing and talented colleagues to help shoot for the day, which will add to your package. If I think you need a shooter I will definitely recommend one depending on the size of your wedding party and guest list. But for me, in many cases having an awesome assistant to help me with equipment, lighting, dress wrangling...is way more useful than a shooter and I am not a fan of adding things that you don’t need. In the end it can save you some money or if you decide to add one it can enhance your day with more images and perspective. I’m here to help you decide!

do i have to have an album with my package? All of my packages include a fine art album with the best images of your day. We love making it for you and giving you something tangible to cherish forever. Why leave those gorgeous images sitting on a disk in a drawer? However, we know albums aren’t for everyone so do not be afraid to ask for something different. We can swap it for something fabulous for your walls or even make a wall album instead. My goal is to give you exactly what you want after the wedding so you can remember it in style!

when do i receive my high resolution images?Your high resolution images are delivered with your album.
